Nyx smiled a little, and nodded. He followed Zeke quietly.

Zeke's kitchen was messy but use able. "Do you want an egg?" He asked as he pulled the pan back into the stove top.
"Sure." Nyx replied with a faint smile. He ran his fingers through his hair, biting his lip.

"Scrambled or over easy? Or I guess we could do boiled but that takes a while, which would give us more time to talk." He asked, mumbling the last part.
Nyx shrugged a little. "I don't have a preference." I don't know the difference.

"Lets try over easy first then." He said, putting the pan over heat and grabbing the eggs from the fridge.
Nyx nodded, sitting down. He let out a slow breath. "Okay. Thank you." He didn't know why he kept repeating the thanks.

Zeke smiled. "Its fine. You don't have to keep thanking me. I'm just treating you like a human being." He explained.
Nyx shrugged a little bit. "Maybe."

Zeke raised an eyebrow as he cracked an egg into the skillet. "What do you mean maybe?" He asked.
"I meant…" he ran his hands through his hair. "I do have to keep thanking you. I don't know."

"You don't have to keep thanking me though. You can do whatever you want now. No one can tell you what to do. If you want to can leave right after eating. Heck, you can leave before eating!" Zeke pointed out.
Nyx shrugged. "I have nowhere to go, and no owner save for RTI." He replied slowly. He looked down at his feet.

"Not anymore!" Zeke said in a sing song voice as he cracked some salt and pepper onto the egg.
"I still don't have an owner, though." Nyx replied.

"You don't need one. You can be your own owner." Zeke explained as he let the egg cook.
"I'm over 50 percent cyborg. That means that, according to the law, I am closer to an Android than a human, and therefore need an owner." Nyx replied, lips flattening into a thin line.

"Well I find that law to be bullsh!t. You either own yourself or choose to be owned. Which do you want to do right now?" Zeke asked, crossing his arms.
Nyx shrugged a little bit, looking away. "I-I…" He shrugged again.

Zeke sighed. "Never mind. It's fine." He said as he focused back on the egg.
Nyx shrugged his shoulders again, looking at his toes.

Zeke flipped the egg. "Who would you even be owned by now?" He asked.
Nyx shrugged. "RTI." he replied. "Or…I guess you…" he said slowly, glancing up at Zeke, then away again.

Zeke tense up a bit when Nyx said his name, not liking the way it was used in context. "Well you are not owned by either at the moment so we don't need to worry about that."
He shrugged again. "Then I'll be found in the streets and sold." he replied softly. "Or returned to RTI."

Zeke let out an exasperated sigh. "Okay. No." He said as turn to look at him. "That is not the way to be thinking."

Nyx clenched his jaw, then shrugged. "That is the way my life is, Zeke." he snapped.

Zeke sighed again. "It shouldn't have to be." He said. "You don't have to be owned."
"Well, unless you can change the law, it does." Nyx replied with a shrug.

"Just don't follow the law." Zeke suggested with a smile. "That's what I've been doing for years and I haven't had much of a problem yet."
