"Fine. I'll be fine," he muttered, staring out the window as the lights of the city flashed by. "We should be there in a few minutes."
Angsty angst (closed for now)
He nodded, though he didn't believe him. "What about you?" He asked the kid in the backseat, looking at him through the rear view mirror.
They drove for a few more minutes before a large, skyscraper-like building came into view. It shone with blue and white lights, and the words "Basilisk" were written in cursive on a large neon sign next to it. "Head for the big building," Kaz said, rubbing at his eyes

Malachi was surprised that Kaden was even the slightest bit interested in his well being. He gave a small shrug before looking at Kaz, upset that he had gotten hurt in the first place.
Kaden found a parking spot close enough to the hotel. He got out of the SUV and opened the passenger's door. He held out his hand to help his lover. "Can you walk or do you want me to carry you?" He asked.
"I can walk fine," Kaz said, hopping out of the SUV. He knew he was probably being a douche for not taking the help, but he didn't want to bother anyone anymore. "Let's just go to the counter so we can get a room and I can go back to sleep," he grumbled
Kaden nodded. He followed in behind, ever watching. He didn't know these people, he didn't trust them. He'd be keeping an eye on them, on everything. He didn't want a repeat of the attack. He had to be on guard at all times. He had to make sure it didn't happen again.
Kaz limped around to the large automatic doors at the front of the hotel. When they stepped inside, the room was warmly lit, with elaborate white marble floors and gold-accented walls. A tall, bored-looking man in a suit sat behind the counter lazily, feet up on the desk as he sipped what looked like his fifth coffee. Kaz walked over to him, stopping. "Hey Argo." The man gave him a look before his eyes wandered to the others. He made a questioning look at them
group
He was in awe. If they got to live there, even for a short while, it would be more than he could dream of.
The man moved so he was standing. Like this, he seemed almost 7'. He squinted down at the three of them, but only just realized that Malachi was standing there since he was so short. He gave him a small smile before turning to Kaz, making a few gestures in sign language. Kaz nodded. "Yes, he's just a kid. He's sort of homeless right now."

Malachi rubbed at one of his arms, feeling overly self conscious.
Kaz glanced over at Malachi, realizing he was a little uncomfortable. He leaned down a little so he was clower to Malachi's height. "Hey, it's ok. Argo's nice, he's just sort of mute. He's gonna make sure we're all ok, alright?"
group
The young half breed nodded. Kaz being clower to his height made the mood lift a bit. He thought it was funny how he was trying to stifle his height for the moment.
Kaz smiled at him before standing back up. "My, uh. My apartment kinda took a helicopter to the wall, so we need a place to stay until it's fixed." Argo nodded, glancing over at Kaden before turning to type something up on his computer. He went to the wall behind him, which was lined with keys, and he took an intricate silver one from near the top of the shelf. He handed it to Kaz

(I keep almost typing Lata please help)
Malachi stared up at the man handing Kaz the key. Quickly, he signed one of the few things he knew. Thank you!
Argo glanced down to find Malachi trying to sign to him. He grinned, signing You're welcome to the kid. Kaz chuckled a little, glad that Argo was enjoying himself a little
group
Malachi didn't understand how to sign much, but could translate it clearly.
"This place is so nice…"
Argo chuckled silently, grabbing his cup of coffee and moving around the desk. He put the coffee in the crook of his arm to sign something to Kaz. Kaz nodded, turning to Malachi. "Argo says he'd be happy to give us a tour of the gardens and stuff tomorrow if you want. But not tonight, because he's working."
group
"I know," he said in a chipper tone. Turning to Argo, he started talking about Kaz being stubborn and not wanting to rest.
Argo nodded along before scowling at Kaz. He made a few gestures with his hands and Kaz huffed. "Alright, alright, I'll go to sleep when we get up to the room." Argo frowned a moment before signing again, and Kaz scowled. "No, you don't need to walk us to the room, we're perfectly fine on our own, thanks."
(kicks this back to the first page)

Pulling on Kaz's sleeve, he argued against him.
"We might be, but you sure aren't."
group
(If Malachi were older he would say: Like hell you're 'fine'! You screwed yourself over like a dumb ass and made us worry.)
Argo scowled. He started to sign furiously at Kaz, and Kaz scowled. "Hey, hey, leave me alone! I did it to help people!" he huffed. Argo scowled before turning to Malachi. What did he do? he signed to him
group
"Well, he jumped out of a gaping hole in the side of a building, into a helicopter, and then it crashed with him still inside. He did do it to save Kaden though," Malachi said innocently.
Argo's eyes widened, and he took a deep breath. Slowly, he turned to Kaz, before furiously signing things at him and pointing at Kaden a few times. Kaz facepalmed before putting a hand up. "Okay, okay. Yeah, helicopter bad, even if it was to save my new boyfriend. Just gimme a break okay, it's been rough lately."
