Elody shrugged. “They’ll include strategy for sure, and play tricks in your mind.”

“I’ll be fine.”, she said, inwardly terrified.

Oh god. Elody’s breathing became strained.
"Come on!" Grace said in full sprint.
Elody followed, fists clenched.
Marya sharpened her knife and stared at Bakarne. Bakarne laid a hand on Marya's cheek, "Mar? Stay safe."
Marya nodded, blinking fast to keep tears from running down her cheeks. She never cried. And never would.
But Bakarne did cry and she wrapped her arms around Marya, "You don't have to do this."
"Yes I do." Marya stepped away, "It's for the good of all the people. My life can be sacrificed to save others."
Bakarne smiled and shook her head, "So selfless. Stay safe. I would like to see you alive."
