Blaine shook her head. “No, it wasn’t. Even if it was a nice addition.” She sighed and glanced at Andion again, wondering how to bring it up, then looked at the prince again. “We’re here to warn you. Someone wants you dead.”
He raised a brow, "Who? Why?" He asked, leaning forwards to brace himself against the table, "Were you sent here to give me the message? If so how did you find out?"

Well, shoot. How were they supposed to tell him that they were the ones who were supposed to kill him?
Blaine eyed Andion, silently asking for him to explain. One wrong move and they would be easily beheaded.
"We have sources, back on our home continent," Andion said after a moment, rubbing at his chin, "People who know the crime leaders and their plans," He shrugged, "That's how we found out. Dunno if they're still alive or not back home." He glanced to Blaine, hoping she'd go along with the story.

Blaine nodded, facing the prince again. “They got to us just in time to tell us before they were caught. We barely got away ourselves.” That was certainly true… They’d barely gotten out, after all.
The prince seemed uncertain, however didn't press on that matter, "Do you know who orchestrated my execution?"

“We do,” Blaine answered, giving nothing else away that they knew. Unless Andion said otherwise, it was on a need-to-know basis.
He narrowed his eyes, a deep frown settling into his features, "So you're just not going to tell me? Information that might be valuable in case they were to come here and try and murder me. Warn me about an assassination yes but not tell me who ordered it? You're insane."

Blaine ignored the harsh tones in the prince’s voice. She tilted her head toward Andion, her hands on her hips.
“Take it up with him,” she said simply, shrugging as if it were no big deal to her.
The prince practically glared at Andion who sighed, "Look, the more you know, the more likely it is that they'll send more people over to kill you. The less you know, the safer you are."
The other man looked ready to kill both of them, however took a deep breath and let it out slowly, "Was that all you both needed?"

“You should get more guards. And make sure you can trust them. Get at least two personal guards,” Blaine said, glancing at Andion. If the prince would allow it, they would be his best shot.
"We'd be happy to stay, we can help protect you. We both know the assassins back home well, how they work, what they do.." Andion shrugged.
The prince was skeptical, "You don't think my own guards could protect me?"

“That’s not what he means,” Blaine said with a shake of her head. “We know how they work, your men don’t. If they were to come here, we would be your best shot at protection because your men wouldn’t know their tricks.”
