At War // OxO // Closed

(I generally avoid group RP's, three I'll do on occasion, but not groups. I figured out early that I don't do well in groups)
Eclipse gave the other a weak smile, "It was over a decade ago… so I doubt you'd remember anything related to it." he said softly, "That…. and I believe it was a surprise attack, unplanned…." he shrugged, "I won't say that it doesn't hurt, but it was also a long time ago." he sighed, "And like I said before, the Kevran worrior that did it was just doing his job."

Eclipse hummed softly, "Yeah, you too." he said softly, wondering why they had to have that in common. But just then, he saw something out of the corner of his eyes, he moved to see it better. "Nik…" he said, getting to his feet, "We have a problem.." he pointed back out onto the field, where the camp was in flames.

Eclipse made sure to stay by the other's side, more worried about his friends than his own people, though he darted off to the Tesh side of camp rallying the soldiers, "What's going on here!?" he yelled to the first high ranking officer he saw. "Rebel attack your highness!" came the reply, "They're after you and the other royals!"
Eclipse tensed at that, throwing a knife to kill and attacking man, heading back to the meeting tent to find his father, and king Crowe.

Eclipse ran through the smoke, coughing and yelling orders to soldiers as he tried to peer through the smoke. He called out for Nik, trying to find him again in the chaos as he cut down a attacker with one of his knives. Suddenly he came across a skirmish in the camp, his father surrounded by attackers.
"Eclipse! Help me!!" called Nightfang, wounded and struggling to fight back.
Eclipse was suddenly thrown back to that night over a decade ago, his mother's cry for help echoing in his ears. "NO." he growled, launching a few knives, most cutting down the attackers, but three cutting into his father. One in his skull, one in his neck, the last peircing his heart, leaving Eclipse with a bitter taste of guilt and triumph.

Eclipse ran away from the skirmish, still looking for Nik, coughing harshly from the smoke he kept going, "Nik!" he called, coughing again, eyes watering, making harder to see. Suddenly he spotted King Crowe, fighting off another group of attackers, Seeing it he threw another knife, catching one of them in the shoulder realising he only had two left as he grabbed a sword from a dead man, running to join the fray and protect the Kevran king. Nik doesn't need to be orphaned too… he thought, barely stopping to think about the meaning behind the thought.

(Sorry, mom was telling me about a really cool trope)

Eclipse was doing his best to defend the king, and himself against the attackers, growling wolfishly as he dodged attacks and launched his own, quickly using up his two knives. "Nik!" he called back, not taking hi eyes off the fray as he started coughing again.

Eclipse kept going, managing to keep going, his wolf side showing through as he summoned his auras in defence. lashing out with his magic several of the attackers suddenly fell to the ground in terror, living a waking nightmare. Eclipse spared one glance to Nik, continuing his own fight, cutting down attackers left and right, He's hot….. was all his brain could register in the moment.

Eclipse nodded, "Agreed" he said, coughing, "But how do we get away without getting killed?" he cut down two more soldiers, dodging a projectile as he slashed down a third, sending out another magic blast, seeming to tire more after that.

Eclipse faltered a little at that, barely dodging another sword, "But…" he tried to think of a reason not to, looking back to the old king, "We can't just leave you…" he coughed some more, his guard dropping long enough for an attacker to cut his arm open, a light cut, but still, one that drew blood.

Eclipse tensed at his words, before nodding and grabbing Nik, pulling him away. P.lease forgive me… he thought, pulling the other towards the edge of camp, only slowing to that the other wouldn't trip and fall.

Eclipse didn't let go, cutting down attackers as they ran before ducking into a tent. "Listen, I don't care if you hate me for this, I don't care if this ruins us forever, I can't lose you." he said quickly, before taking a deep breath, "I already saw my father die in a skirmish moments before I joined the fight with yours, More like I killed him….. he thought, "Your father's right, we're the heirs to the kingdoms. Without us, everything goes to shit. If we don't survive this, our people will each assume the other country murdered us, and this war will never stop. More kids will be left orphans, more young men will lose their lives and futures. We can't let that happen, even if it hurts."

"I know… just be glad you have something to mourn for if he doesn't make it out.." he said softly, holding his hands in his own. "Now how about we get out before the tent catches fire?"

Eclipse followed him, noting how the other manipulated the shadows as they tried to fight their way out of camp. But unfortunately it wasn't going to be that easy as the numbers of attackers seemed to grow as night fell, the blaing fires lighting the campsite, but the smoke making it harder to see.

Eclipse was almost exhausted, having dared to use his powers twice more, as night fell, "Nik…." he coughed some more, his voice hoarse from breathing smoke, "I don't think we're making it out…" he coughed some more, dodging another sword, and cutting down another attacker.
