Liam sighed before singing softly to himself as he fed an attention seeking Mortem. The sun shone brightly through his windows and the balcony doors and he looked towards the plants browning out there. Deciding he really should take better care of his plants, he grabbed a bottle of water and headed outside, giving his flowers the water they needed.
I need to remember to water them more often.

Um, not true. I could lose my secret identity. And if I lost that, then I'd lose my privacy. And if I lost that I'd lose my mind.
Okay, fine! But you should still do it, anyway.
Kasey sighed and rubbed her head. Taking a deep breath, she knocked before she could convince herself not to.
Liam neared the knock and finished what he was doing before walking inside and shutting the door behind him. He continued to sing quietly to himself as he opened the door and his eyes widened.
“Kasey! I haven’t seen you for a few days, school and job been keeping you busy I assume?”

Kasey smiled warily. "Yeah, something like that," she chuckled nervously. "I had some free time on my hands but nothing to do, so I decided to come see what you were doing."
Liam out his hands in his pockets and rocked back on his heels, “Yeah, I’m not doing anything exciting at the moment.” He said, biting his lip.

"Oh. Well… Do you want to do something with me, then?" Kasey asked tentatively, avoiding Liam's eyes as she felt her cheeks warm slightly. She hoped she wasn't blushing, because gosh would that be embarrassing…
Liam smiled, “Now that’s an opportunity I won’t pass up on. Anywhere you want to go in particular?” He asked, leaning down to his shoes that were by the door and slipping them on.

Kasey shook her head, smiling now that he'd said 'yes'. "No, not really. Maybe we could just go for a walk?"
“Sounds like a go with the flow kinda plan. Let’s do it.” He picked up his keys, phone and wallet before walking into the hall way and shutting the door behind him, locking it as well.

"All right, then," Kasey said, smiling at Liam. "Any ideas of where we should walk to? Or should we just pick a direction and go?"
Liam thought for a moment, “Let’s just pick a direction and walk. Why not go on an adventure where we don’t know where we’re going and just have fun with it.” He said, smiling.

"That sounds like a good plan," Kasey agreed, starting down the hall. "Now we just have to decide which direction to go in."
“Let’s just go with the flow, the right direction will pick itself.” Liam shrugged one shoulder as he spoke.

Kasey cast a quick smile at him as they walked out the door. She stopped and looked around, wondering where they should go.
To their right was the larger part of the city, where she worked and went to school, while to their left was a smaller part. Kasey almost never went in that direction, and she honestly couldn't remember the last time she had gone that way.
"Let's go left," she suggested, nodding in that direction.
“Alright, after you, M’lady.” Liam said with a warm smile.

Kasey laughed lightly and started walking in the direction she had said.
"So, Liam, how's work been?" she asked, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye.
Liam shrugged, “Same old. Although… Matt’s been acting strange. Ever since the building fire.”

"Really?" Kasey's eyebrows drew together. "Huh. I wonder what that's about…"
“Me too but I haven’t looked into it since I’ve been busy but…” He sighed and rubbed his face, “Anyway, it doesn’t matter.”

I wonder if it has something to do with the fire…
"Yeah… Anyway, what've you been doing besides work?" Kasey asked.
“Reading, researching interesting topics.” Liam said, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Oh, really? What kind of topics?" Kasey asked, curious about what he liked.
Liam shrugged, “History, medieval Europe, astronomy, music.”

"Medieval Europe? Really? That's, like, my favorite time period!" Kasey exclaimed. "And I didn't know you liked music."
“I uh..” He coughed, “W-Write my own music…” He muttered, becoming flustered at what he’d admitted.

Kasey's eyes widened. "You do? Could I, maybe, hear some of it?" she asked tentatively.
Liam’s cheeks became warm, “I-I mean, s-sure, yeah when I have my guitar.”

"Cool," Kasey said quietly, smiling. "I can't wait."
“I-I’m not the good, so don’t expect anything to fancy.” He said, rubbing his neck.

"I'm sure you're great," Kasey said, turning slightly to grin at him.
A field started to come into her vision more and more as they walked along. It was mixed with the purples and yellows and reds of wildflowers.
