Rigel smiled at the girl. The smile didn’t reach his eyes, though, “I’m good enough for now.”

Colden just watched as they group hugged and drank his water.
"Do I have to?" August asked, smiling despite himself.
"Come on, August. You might as well join us," Meun called. He gave August his best pout, gold eyes twinkling hopefully as he looked up at him

Belle laughed and walked over to join in on the hug.

Riverpaw giggled as Tsunami walked over, and she let go for a second to pick her up and place her Rigel's lap, then went right back to hugging as the pup nuzzled at his chest.
August practically wilted under Meun's gaze. "I swear, you're going to be the death of me." He muttered under his breath as he moved towards them, wrapping his arms tentatively around the group.

“This is too much fuss over me, we all probably look like dorks. What happened to our reputation?” Rigel sighed and shook his head, but pet Tsunami anyways.

"Fine." he walked over and joined their group hug.

Riverpaw snorted. "Forget 'reputation'. We're friends, and you were feeling bad, and group hugs are the best thing ever."

"Also, we do look like dorks like this though." he told them
"We don't have to have a reputation when it's just us jammed in a sad house party," Meun said with a small laugh

"They're the best," Belle agreed. She suddenly poked someone in the side, quietly giggling a bit as she did so.
August let out a strangled yelp. "What was that for?"

Belle dissolved into a fit of laughter. "I just wanted to see who I could get to jump out of their skin!" she exclaimed between laughing.
Meun couldn't help but laugh along with Belle. "Your face was pretty funny," he giggled
August felt his cheeks heat up a bit. "It wasn't that funny."

"It kind of was" Colden said chiming in.
"Yes it was. You jumped half a foot in the air," Meun teased before taking a sip of his punch

"I can't see your face form over here, but the sound you made was pretty funny." Riverpaw giggled quietly.

"It was hilarious, August," Belle argued, agreeing with the others. She had to let go and pull out of the hug so that she could sit down to laugh. Oh, yeah, she was definitely getting affected by the drinks.

Meun cast a quick glance at Rigel to make sure he was somewhat okay before pulling away as well. "Don't worry, August. You're cute when you're surprised," he said, giving him a smile before getting up to refill his drink
