August smiled despite himself. "Do you want to go to the bathroom? You can splash some cold water on your face."

"Water..? Water. That's a thing I can…do," Meun slurred. He sat up, rubbing at his eyes before getting up and beginning to stumble in the general direction of the bathroom

August sighed. He rubbed his face with his hand tiredly. "God, he's going to be the death of me."

Meun ambled into the bathroom, but instead of going to the sink he crawled into the bathtub. When August walked in, he was in the process of reaching to turn the faucet on

"Meun?" August asked softly, closing the door behind him so he wouldn't alarm the others. "What are you doing?"

"M' using the water," Meun said before throwing his hands in the air. "You use water in big sinks. Bath sinks. Sink baths. Saths?"

(yeah Meun is the dumb, adorable drunk lmao)

"Um," he muttered, kneeling next to the tub. He turned off the water. He reached out and softly cupped Meun's face. He let out a small laugh. "Oh god, you're really drunk, aren't you?"

"S' not my fault I'm a lightweight," Meun complained, his eyes falling shut as he let his head fall into August's hands. "S' okay, though. I like when my brain's all fuzzy. It hurts less."

"Meun," August muttered. He peeled off his socks and stepped into the tub, sitting in front of Meun. "It- it's okay, okay?"

Meun gave him a sort of lazy thumbs up before resting his head on the edge of the tub. "You're nice to me, though. No one's nice to me. I don't think anyone likes me anymore. I get hurt too much and I complain and sleep and cry and that's all I can do."

"Meun." He insisted firmly. "You wouldn't have been invited here if no one liked you. RIgel likes you, and so does Aspen, and Belle and Colden and Riv and everyone else. And I- I like you. I like you a lot."

Meun gave him a sort of sad but hopeful look. "You think so?" he mumbled. "I…I like you too. You're my favorite."

"Favorite?" August said, as if he couldn't believe it. "You're my favorite too."

A sort of sleepy grin spread across Meun's face. He shifted a bit so that he could plop down on August's chest, looking up at him with bright gold eyes. "Really?" he murmured

August blushed. "Yeah." He said, sheepishly. He wrapped his arms around Meun. "Like I said, I like you a lot."

"I like you a lot too," Meun mumbled, his smile only widening when August wrapped his arms around him. "Can we like each other a lot all the time?"

"Yeah." He said softly. "I'd like that."

Meun grinned dorkily at that. He leaned up to press a kiss to August's nose, giggling as he did so

August blushed and let out a small laugh. He leaned down and captured Meun’s lips with his own, pulling away almost immediately after. “Sorry,” he said, though he grinned nonetheless.

Meun froze, and before he could stop it his face turned neon red. He made a noise of embarrassment as he buried his face in the front of August's shirt, his brain effectively spluttering to a stop

August laughed, hugging Meun closer. “We’re a mess.” He said, kissing his forehead.

"Y…You're a mess," Meun mumbled, his voice a bit muffled from the way his face was pressed into August's chest. His cheeks felt like they were on fire, even more so when August kissed him again

August’s widened in panic. He looked down at Meun against his chest and back at Riv. “Don’t you dare say anything.”
