The royal decree had come in the dead of night. A lone messenger sent to each of the noble families. The Queen is dead. The King injured but alive and full of wrath. All have been summoned to him to bring revenge on the one who would betray us all.
Cambria rode in the back of her family's Rolls, her nails clicking against the leather seats, the only sign of her distress. To be summoned to the King was exactly what she didn't need right now. She was in the middle of turbulent deals with a local crime boss over territory, but…the Queen had been a dear friend once upon a time in her youth. Cambria would go to pay her respects and see what the King meant by evoking the right of revenge. Contemplating what the occurring events may mean for her family, she stared out the heavily tinted window, wondering who else would answer the King's call.
"And the feuds begin once more." She said quietly to the outside world, for indeed, the noble families would be at each other's throats until the killer was found.
Klaus had been relaxing in the light of the moonlight with his thick eyelids half-closed as he enjoyed the feeling of the light sinking into his skin. There was a book with heavy symbols on the front cover, while looking harsh and abrasive, was about pretty bugs like butterflies and fireflies. Klaus found he really couldn't get into it on such a strange night. Something about it felt off…
Suddenly a knock made his eyes open all the way, and he turned in his wooded chair to face the door. He stood, quietly crossed his home, his feet turning thr carpet under his toes. He opened the door to be greeted with a messenger holding a scroll.
"You have been summoned, Lord Amberdamn," He murmured. "The Queen has been killed, and the King summons you."
Verian paced in his room, hands clasping each other as he listed who could've murdered his mother. "Perhaps Cambria Vocorix, she is known as ruthless when it comes to killing." He muttered, his hands unclasping to grab a dagger he had on one of his tables, he flipped it around his fingers as he resumed his pacing. He didn't wish to face his father right now, he just knew it was meant for his father, not his mother, but his mother had gotten in the way. "Foolish." His mother couldn't even save herself.
Edith sat quietly listening to the soft hum of her Cadillac Ciel as it ate up miles in the dead of night. She mulled over the message once again, a tall glass of champagne in hand.
The Queen is dead….
Edith cursed under her breath. "I invested a lot of money in you, female…". Edith had always been fond of the Queen, approving of her ways of rule. She had given much in taxes and personal donations to the Queen's cause. And now, she's dead She thought with a sour glare to the skies above. "And now, I've got an angry king on my back…" She muttered before taking a sip from her glass. She just hoped this whole escapade was quick, finding the murderer so they could pay sevenfold, and Edith could get back to her business. The woman had schedule to keep and these shenanagians put a dent in a lot of her plans.

Dominik sat in his favorite armchair of the drawing room, gazing out of the window as he took a long drag from a cigarette. The air didn't seem as peaceful as usual, but he couldn't place a finger onto why. Only two hours prior he'd been part of a meeting debating what to do about the poverty in the area and how it had been affecting the crime rates. Nothing that Dominik actually cared about, but he bluffed his way through and the minors left with content expressions. He blew out the smoke just as a knock came to the door.
"Come in."
A short, teetering fellow, clutching a small scroll, carefully opened the door and cleared his throat. "The king wishes an audience with you, Lord Tragavisson. The Queen has been murdered."
Eztli looked up, startled and curled up in fear before she realized it was just a servant boy. She uncurled a bit. "Hello Damion. What's wrong?" Damion replied, "The Mistress wishes you to be ready for a journey to the royal city for a few weeks. The Master and Mistress have been called up to the palace and the Mistress wishes for you to join them." Eztli's eyes widened but nodded and quickly scurried to her closet, packing up hurriedly.
Soon, they were on their way. She was in a separate car from her aunt and uncle, a book in her lap, all dressed up in more modern clothes which she was uncomfortable in. She squirmed under the stunned gaze of her hand maiden. Her family was rather old-fashioned, and she had been used to it for so long…. It was strange to be heading up out of the country and into the modern world.
Eztli worried. She didn't know why they had been called up to the palace, much less why her aunt and uncle had decided to bring her along. It was strange… She started to cough, her tiny frame shaking violently from it. Her servant immediately dove for a small package and brought out two bottles. One was filled with dark red liquid, and the other was filled with a cloudy white/clear liquid. "Coconut or blood my lady?" Eztli reached for the coconut milk. The hand maiden, her name was Amelia, looked disappointed but not surprised as she handed the bottle over. "You really need to drink some blood my lady. Just coconut milk won't suffice. You're sickly because you won't drink it." Eztli sighed after she gulped the milk down. "With good reason Amelia… You know why." Amelia's face softened. "I know… I'm sorry." Eztli shrugged and looked out the window, trying to block the memories.
"Why must they require me?" Klaus asked rather bitterly as he snatched the scroll from the messenger and motioned for him to walk. "Go! I will follow behind," He finally snapped down at the smaller fellow, who quickly started to scuttle along, with the haughty vampire following.
As they walked, his question still bobbed playfully in and out. Yes, he was a noble of the King and Queen, but never have they called him for something like this. He had no family (therefore had money), and practically had no face in public affairs. However, the Queen's death is absolutely tragic, and if the King is injured, he would need the money to pay for his repairs.
There was a stirring in the air. He could hear the murmuring brought to him by the wind. All around they began to move. The creatures of the night had been summoned. Victor raised his head and tasted the air. With a slight growl he dropped down from the tree and landed crouching on all fours like a cat. He stood slowly, letting the night air fill his lungs and the smell of disaster touch his tongue. From carried whispers he was barely able to hear the news. He breathed in sharply. So… The queen is dead.
Cambria stood outside of the council room, hesitating for some reason. For the first time in a long time, she felt a flicker of fear. Of course, war was no stranger to her, she was birthed on a Gaulish battlefield, and yet the feeling lingered in the back of her mind. Something dark and violent was afoot here. She could almost feel it breathing down her neck. Now was the time to protect her family above all else. This, she knew in her gut.
She knew that the other families would want to make a grand entrance, displaying their power for the court to see, despite the current misfortune of the Queen's death. Nothing like this had happened in centuries, she was sure. Not since the marriage of the Queen and King had ended the last of the feuds between families. Now there was no guarantee that they would not start up again. She would have to secure her lands in preparation and move her family to a safer stronghold…
She straightened her shoulders and pushed through the doors, head held high. Enough. She was the Heir of House Voccorix, she would be afraid no longer.
(ummm. That's pretty neat, but can we keep this to RP replies only? You can PM me pictures and plot stuff. Just so this doesn't get cluttered.)
(Yeah man, pictures and stuff can really slow it down.)
(annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd back to the RP!)
Etzli had arrived at the palace after a long, tiring ride. But now she was stuck outside of the courtroom, shifted on the uncomfortable velvet chair. Her aunt and uncle knew she wouldn't do well in court, so she was told to stay out in the waiting/lounge room and read or draw. She was quite used to this, but the new surrounding were throwing her off and she could smell the other vampire families in the building and was nervous, not trusting anyone she didn't know. She felt dizzy so she pulled out another bottle of coconut milk and sipped it slowly.
Verian walked out of his room, making his way to his father's throne room, wrinkling his nose at the smell of coconut milk. He stopped in his tracks, turning his piercing eyes to a small and sickly looking woman. "What," He started, "Are you drinking?" He asked the woman, the smell was absolutely horrible, it was probably worse for him, as he was allergic to coconuts.

An odd kind of smile curled on Dominik's lips, half thinking that the messenger's words were a joke. "Of course, I'll arrive promptly." he disposed of his cigarette butt in an ash tray on the table beside him as he rose out of the armchair and nonchalantly made his way out into the hallway. The butler, Ames, quickly turned his attention to the Lord, patiently waiting for his command.
"Ames, we are taking a trip to the palace. I don't know for how long, but it's best we pack for at least a week's stay."
Ames bowed silently then pivoted on the balls of his feet. He knew exactly what he needed to do.
Dominik arrived at the palace with his butler. The shorter, older vampire followed in his lord's footsteps as they were escorted through the palace by one of the king's servants. Not too far away, Dominik heard a familiar patronizing voice, and the closer they got to the throne room, the more familiar the voice became. Soon the voice had a face, one that Dominik hadn't seen for a good few years. He kept quiet however, he had nothing to say in the presence of the two vampires stood outside the door. As his eyes dropped to the younger woman, he was taken aback by how frail she was. But again, he said nothing. He and Ames waited for the heads up to enter the throne room.
A pale young man entered. He looked around, slightly patronizingly, but turned around, apparently not interested enough to comment or speak to anyone.
Edith looked to the ancient palace as she stepped through the double doors, flanked on either side by finely dress rough-necks. Her body guards, just for show and light work, Gunther and Hugo. They stayed silent as she led the way to the council room. She remembered the way after a few visits over the years.
She pushed the doors open and stepped in. She greeted no one, her eyes falling on each and every one of those guests already present. Her heels clicked as she made her way to the table, the sound echoing off the walls. Gunther pulled the chair out for her, Edith sat, and crossed her legs at the knees. The two brutish men took up post at either side of her, silent as the dead.
(Idk if any of you have watched Castlevania but, I'm thinking after this RP you should. :P)
Cambria leaned back slightly in her chair, taking on a more relaxed position, even though she was anything but relaxed. Each vampire that stepped into the room made her want to step out of it. They were all familiar faces, but no less dangerous. During the feuds the Voccorix family had stamped it heel aggressively onto other houses, Cambria had no allies here. At least…not yet.
She tapped her long pointed nails onto the table, eyes fixing themselves onto the throne before them all. Empty. For now. When the King came she knew his anger would fill up not only his throne, but the very room around them.
Victor's eyes flicked to Cambria's. He grinned sharply. Here was one of the few ones he recognized. One of the few names he actually knew.
Etzli looked up, startled and curled into herself, eyes wide and panicked. "C-coconut milk…? Why?" Her fangs flashed a little, having swung out in her fright.
