Etzli blushed and smiled up at him. "Well, that's one person!" She sang softly to herself before asking, "Where are we going?"
Blood Wars (The Revival) Mature Themes // Vampire RP! // Mystery // Romance// Closed!!
He raised an eyebrow. "One? I am sure you have more worthy admirers than I." He looked over to her a curious glint in his eyes. "And I expected you were leading the way out. I showed up uninvited and have not been assigned sleeping quarters."
Etzli shook her head. "You're the first!" Then her servant ran up to the both of them. "Ms. Etzli! I'm to show you to your room!" Etzli nodded. "Lead the way." She motioned to Victor to follow.
Victor followed the servant, remembering the days when he would have been pampered by maids and the like. The memories brought a bittersweet smile to his lips. He realized suddenly that he was accompanying a lady to her sleeping quarters. How risque, he mused. In the days before he never would have dared. How he had changed since then.
They arrived and Elizabeth bowed quickly before asking, "Do you need anything?" Etzli just asked, "Did you put my coconut milk in the room?" "Yes, along with the blood. Please. Drink some." Etzli shook her head, smiling faintly, before dismissing her servant. She led Victor into her room. She dropped the books onto a table before collapsing into a chair, shaking. She started to cough violently.
Victor looked disturbed for a moment and tensed up, ready to run for help. Then he realized this was probably a common occurrence and sat down beside her, composing himself as he had been taught in his youth. "You really should drink some," Victor said casually. It wasn't in his nature to push, but the female looked far from well.
Etzli shook her head and pulled the partial bottle she had in her pocket from earlier and gulped it down. "I'll be fine." She wasn't. She was slowly dying and she knew it. But she wouldn't touch blood with a ten foot pole. Not after….. She looked stressed and anxious, rubbing her arms as if trying to get warm.
"Hmm," he said, unconvinced. "May I have the honor of knowing why you do not partake in the food of our people?" He sighed, "I went through the same phase when I first transformed, but I had to change if I wanted to live."
Etzli looked down at her lap and muttered something about 'PTSD'. She fidgeted with her skirt, wanting to change into more comfortable clothes. She coughed again and she covered her mouth. When she drew her hand away, her palm was covered in blood.
He looked at her grimly. "I believe you are very sick. Do you truly wish to die instead of consume blood. It need not be human blood if that is what bothers you.."
Etzli just calmly pulled out an already stained kercheif and wiped her hand off, showing that this has obviously happened before. "It's any blood. It doesn't matter what kind. If I see and smell it…. I go a little bit insane…. It's embarrassing and terrifying."
"Still better than death," he commented. He shook his head. "But enough about that. Doubtless it has been spoken of more often than you wish. Instead let us speak of your lineage, if you are so inclined."
Etzli raised an eyebrow. "Alright… What do you want to know?" Her eyes trailed over to the books they had brought in, wanting to read them and escape, but didn't want to be rude.
"Tell me all. I have not known many of my kind. I know of the families, but that is all. I assume each has a rank of sorts that correlates to power, respect and prestige."
Etzli winced. "Um… I don't know a ton… So every vampire belongs to a "family" which is just a group of vampires that are there either because they were born into it or a family member bit them and turned them. There are the family leaders, which in the case of my family are my Aunt and Uncle. They oversee their family, which can get quite extensive, and each family member eventually gets assigned a job that benefits the family. I haven't gotten mine yet."
He nodded. "What about the ones who don't know their family?" He leaned forwards in his chair. "What happens to them? Is there a way to find the bloodline or do they go into a separate family or just stay loners?"
Etzli hummed in thought. "Um, I think there's a way to find out lineage or who bit who. But you can also get "adopted" into families if no one really can find your original family for some reason. It means devoting your whole life to the good of the family though, and most vamps don't like to do that."
He stood up. "Thank you. If you do not wish otherwise, I shall be off." He took his stack of books off the table and stood, waiting for her reply.
Etzli's eyes showed she really wanted him to stay, but she wasn't used to voicing her wants, constantly afraid that… She shook her head and turned her gaze away, nodding. "If that's what you want…"
His eyes sparkled slightly. "If you wish me to stay I will be glad to accept your offer. I can read here as well as anywhere. I merely thought you might want some time to yourself."
(not to be a pest, because this is good stuff, but it's time for more intrigue at the balllllllllllll. :) When ya'll are ready.)
(W-wait, there's a freaking ball??! Why??)
(~.~)
(Yes Eris, I'm ready when you are.)
((In commemoration of the Queen! I'm ready!)
(^^^ What Loti said. If we can have our characters start heading to the ball that would be awesome.)
(YES YES YES YESYESYESYES!)
Etzli opened her mouth to ask him to stay when Elizabeth poked her head into the room. "Ms. Etzli!! Your aunt told me to inform you that you're to attend the ball, so you better start getting ready!!" Etzli looked surprised, then slightly afraid. What if it was anything like how court went…?
Victor immediately made to go. "I will leave you now." He cursed under his breath. "A pity I brought no finer clothes." I will see you there."
Etzli quickly grabbed his sleeve. "No. Wait. I can get you clothes if that's a problem for you." She then realized how she was acting and quickly let go of his sleeve. "Sorry!"
He stopped. "Really? Why thank you." he looked around. How would you have anything that would fit me?"
Etzli held up a finger and zoomed off. When she came back, she was holding a very well crafted tux. "Ask no questions. Get changed then come back so I can make adjustments, okay?"
