“It’s not that funny!” Finn hissed, whiched caused Mrs. Carson to whip around and stomp up to him, handing Finn a detention slip.

Jayde stopped her laughter the second the teacher came around their area but still pointed with a face towards Finn.

Finn rolled his eyes, caught his mistake, and then received a sharp smack to the head from his aunt. “Don’t sass me mister.”
Mrs. Carson headed back to the front of the classroom, while Riley attempted to make eye contact with Finn to check on him.

"Hey, you okay?" She asked him, turning her attention to him, not caring about what the teacher had to say.

@Hawkeye

“I’m fine…” Finn said, not looking fine.
“Corporal punishment isn’t legal here!” Riley protested to the teacher.
“Mr. Maddox, I will have to give you a second detention.”

Jayde yelled out to the teacher to stop her arguing. "Hey, can we get back to class. You're a teacher aren't you!"

@Hawkeye

“Three children, three detentions. The next person who needs detention goes to the principal’s office.” Mrs. Carson said, handing Jayde a detention slip.

Jayde mocked her behind her back snatching the slip before hiding her laughter.

@Hawkeye

Finn smiled. Carson turned back and began giving more instructions, which weren’t important, at all.

Jayde listened to the instructions finally and when the teacher was done, then she took out her laptop.

@Hawkeye

Finn pulled his out as well, not even totally sure what to write.

Jayde wrote three pages filled with random words and at the end wrote her name before submitting it to the teacher.

@Hawkeye

Finn finally began writing about a random event that happened a few years back, one the teacher had been present for.

Jayde didn't know what to do when she was done so she leaned back in her chair and rested against the wall. Before she knew, she fell straight on her head and made a loud noise with the chair. "Oops."

@Hawkeye

“Are you Alright?!” Finn asked worriedly.
“Principal’s office both of you!”

"Yea," She answered rubbing her head. "He didn't do anything though." She said, directing her speech towards the teacher. She picked up her bag and walked towards the door.

@Hawkeye

“Go.” Carson said, so Finn followed Jayde out.

Jayde kept the door open for Finn before following him towards the principal's office. "Sorry."

@Hawkeye

“Not your fault.” Finn said shortly. “She’s the worst one, and the principal is really nice.”

"Isn't this one your uncle or something." She said in a questioning tone before taking the same marble steps she took the day before. She opened the door for Finn before following behind him.

@Hawkeye

“Aunt.” Finn corrected.

"Sorry." Jayde responded again, knocking on the principal's door.

@Hawkeye

“No problem.” Finn said, as the principal called, “Come in!”

Jayde went in first before watching as Finn also came in and motioned for him to speak.

@Hawkeye

“Finnegan, you’ve already gotten in trouble?” The principal asked, obviously trying to hold in a laugh.
Finn smiled. “Maybe. Oh, and by the way, this is Jayde.”

"Wish we could be meeting on better circumstances." She mumbled, rubbing her neck. She didn't want the principal to be seeing her as if she was some troublemaker even though in some way she was.

@Hawkeye

“As do I, Jayde.” The principal turned to Finn. “What class?”
“English.”
The principal sighed. “How many detentions?”
“Like…. I don’t know…. three?”
“My goodness. Well, you’re free to go. Only serve one detention, please.”

"Thank you," She mumbled under her breath opening the door for them to exit.

@Hawkeye

“No problem.”

"So do we go back to class or what?"
