Casual, Original RP

(Am I doing this right? I sure hope so.)

Hey, there! I've been wanting to start my own RP for a bit, so here's hoping this doesn't completely fail, hah. Anyhow, I was shooting for a very low-key and let-things-happen-as-they-choose type roleplay. I'll set a limit on how many can join later, but for now, here are the rules:

1) You know those basic character format sheets? None of those, now. Think of a character in your head. Got 'em? Cool. Now you're going to develop them and their story through actions and dialogue - not just a little info chart.
2) This'll be a very casual thing - don't worry about answering things right away, because heaven knows it stresses me out.
3) No smut, cursing, overly descriptive gore/violence… you know the drill. The limit is PG-13 max.
4) Be cool with each other, yeah? Otherwise no one has a good time. Too much internal drama will result in the abandonment of the thread, which I have no idea how to do, so please do not make me figure it out, I'm confused as it is.

This story, hopefully, will make absolutely no scientific, historical, or philosophical sense. You want a cyberpunk ninja playing backgammon with an eldritch abomination from the 18th dimension? Go for it. Make it as wacky, crazy, and out there as you please.

Now. I'll start with a character of my own, first off, and you guys can come in and play whenever you'd like.

The young cowboy leaned against the table in the cantina where he sat alone, nursing a glass of water - not tequila. He was the only lawkeeping man he knew - he could not get drunk and leave others defenseless. The water was tepid, and he wasn't even thirsty, but the barkeep got upset if you loitered in his establishment without taking something to drink. He watched the doors idly, waiting for something, anything to happen.

The mage entered the bar looking for someone to hire. She walked up to the bar and ordered a drink.
(This okay?)

She looked at her reflection in the mirror one last time before closing it and shoving it into her pocket. She entered the bar, adjusting her wig and walking up to the counter. The bartender gave her her usual without a second glance.

(It is indeed!)

The cowboy started, the brim of his hat falling over his eyes for a moment. It'd been a while since a girl came to the bar on her own, especially with things being so dangerous nowadays. And she was dressed… strangely. That was how he'd describe it. Almost instinctively, he strode up to stand next to her, jingling his coins in his pocket.
"James Cassidy, ma'am," he introduced himself. "Mind if I buy your drink for you? It's not often we find newcomers here. What brings you?"

The mage smiled. Her mother's words on unknown men offering drinks came to the front of her mind. "Thank you for the offer. I could actually use something to eat actually…"

(Alrighty! See you when you get back!)

He paused, not actually expecting her to take him up on his offer, but pleasantly surprised when she did. "Anything you'd like, ma'am," he replied. "Barkeep here happens to be the best cook in town. That ain't saying much, considering he's the only surviving one at the moment, but I s'pose it's worth somethin'."

She chuckled. "Do they make grilled cheese here?"

Oh. Well. "That's, uh, that's that thing they do where they put cheese on bread and throw it on a fire, ain't it? I reckon it ain't too hard to pull off." He stroked his chin thoughtfully, as if there were a beard there and not just stubborn peach fuzz that refused to grow further. He rapped on the counter with the back of his hand, calling out to the bartender. "Hey, Quincy! You know howta do those cheese-bread things?"

"They're called grilled cheeses, you moron," the irate man behind the counter called back from the kitchen. "Yeah, I can do 'em. I'll have it right out, hold your horses."

She watched the conversation of the two strangers with peaked interest. They were so polite, so… friendly. The strangers, while they may not have been spilling their deepest, darkest secrets, were getting along just fine. She payed her tab and sat at a table in the far corner, now watching less conspicuously.

A petite girl walked up to the bar. She ordered a shot of the strongest thing they had and downed it without a second thought.

A brunette walked into the bar. She ordered a shot of the strongest thing and chugged it down without thinking. She was hoping this would help since her day has already been terrible and she didn't other people making it worse.

(No ideas?)
