Lili frowned. "You'd think you would know if your neighbourhood was haunted."

"Oh, I only come around sometimes. I spend most of my days eating chimeras in the nearby forest."
"Oh, of course. I do that too. Very common pastime around here., she snorted.
Cyprus smiled. "As ridiculous as it sounds, it's true. I'm not your average ghost per say."
group
"What sets any ghosts apart from one another anyway?" Niko asked.
"Well, I happened to have a series of curses placed on me during and after my death, so I turned into more of a ghost-like monster than anything once I reached Purgatory."
"What's the Purgatory?"
group
"Oh, fun. What exactly did you do to warrant all of that cursing?" Niko pushed his glasses back up his face.
"Nothing, in fact. We just so happened to be harboring an entire court of warlocks secretly planning to summon a nasty demon to destroy us and take the throne. Little did they know, the demon couldn't be stopped and it went on to level the entire kingdom."
"Sounds pretty intense. What is the Purgatory, exactly?"
group
"So demons are real?" Niko asked. He hadn't ever seen a real monster before. Just the man-made ones like greed and war.
He turned to Lili and explained that Purgatory was the judgement zone for the dead.
(I've gotta go, you guys can control Lili while I'm off)
(ok) Cyprus sighed. "Yes, unfortunately, basically every creature the human race has ever heard of exists, as well as some it hasn't heard of."
group
(Bye!)
Niko was yet again more interested than scared. "We have an awful lot to learn, then, plus some things we may never learn. That's one way of looking at it."
Cyprus shrugged again, folding his arms under his cloak. "Yes, you learn a lot once you've seen the other side."
group
"I suppose so. I wasn't there for long- at least not as long as you- and I don't remember a whole lot, but I have been told that I've changed a lot." Niko adjusted a button on his jacket.
"Well, you should be glad you weren't there for very long. From my experience it was horrendous."
group
"Yeah, I'm certain I went nowhere good," Niko added, "I'm not very proud of my life so far. But somehow, I feel I don't belong back here, either."
"Well I'm not certain anyone would feel quite at home after a round trip to the underworld and back."
group
"Oh, of course not. It's bad enough that I was already a little different." Niko snapped his fingers, and a flame appeared in the palm of his hand.
Cyprus smiled. "Oh, you work with flames too?" He held out his hand, and a small blueish-purple flame flickered to life in his palm
group
Niko nodded, his dark gaze fixed upon Cyprus' hand. "I sure do. I always have."
The ghost's smile softened from a smirk to more of a friendly smile. "My family was always a fan of alchemy. Fire magic was my forte, but for some reason the flames were always cold. I guess the practice followed me into the afterlife."
group
"Alchemy…?" Niko echoed. He had certainly heard of the practice before. "Well… where I come from, most of us have potential to conduct magic- different kinds for different people. Some are just more powerful than others. I'm a powerhouse, but I never trained, and I am dangerous because I have difficulty controlling it."
group
(I have to get going. Bye!)
"Ahh. The warlock court conducted magic similarly. They were a family that specialized in summoning as well as a sort of burning ice. Ironic isn't it, that ice beat fire in the end?"
(ok, cya !)
