She raised an eyebrow, looking Tamika up and down with a condescending look. "Defend herself from what? I don't see much to worry about."

"Watch yourself," Tamika snarled.
Reese suddenly stepped forward. "If you want a challenge, Tamika, let the hockey do the talking, huh?"
Tamika pressed her lips into a smirk. "Alright. My terms."

"A challenge?" Her eyes lit up with fierce interest.

"Mhmm," Tamika hummed. "What do you say, Reese?"
Reese stood, frozen, for a second.

Her eyes didn't leave Tamika as she spoke to Reese. "Can I talk to you for a second, Reese?"

Reese nodded slowly, then turned her back to Tamika and walked over to the side of the field with A. "What?"

"A coupla things. First, whatever this challenge is, are you sure you wanna go through with it?"

"I don't know," she said, her voice suddenly wavering. She sounded scared. "Tamika hates me, she wants her position back. She'll do nearly anything to get me off the team…"

A sighed, placing a hand on the other girl's shoulder and squeezing. "What she thinks doesn't matter, sweetheart. It's /your field too/, and you love this game. She doesn't get to take that away from you, especially not because of jealousy."

Reese nodded. "Okay. So, you think I should do it then?"

She bared her teeth in a smile. "Kick her ass. I'll be right here the whole time."

Reese grinned. "Is that it? You said there was a couple of things."

"Oh, yeah. I'm gonna tell her to suck my dick first chance I get."

Reese's ears turned light red. "Do you have to?"

"Yup. It's a necessity." She laughed.

"Done yet?" Tamika called.
Reese tightened again.

"Done with your shit? Sister, we passed that a few bitchy insults ago." She shouted back, before turning to Reese and winking. "Go get 'em, tiger. I'll be cheering for you."

Reese smiled at A before jogging back out to Tamika.
"What do you want?" Reese asked when she reached her.
"You know what I want," Tamika shot back.
"What are your terms?"
Tamika smirked. "10 shots on goal. Alternating. Whoever makes the most wins."
"That's it?" Reese arched an eyebrow.
"Mhmm," Tamika hummed. "Winner takes all."
Reese tensed. She knew how risky this was… "You're on."

"Knock her down a peg! Or better yet, on her ass!" A shouted, hands cupped around her mouth.

Reese's ears turned pink.
Tamika scowled. "Let's get started."
Each girl got ten white hockey balls out of the wagon and lined them up on the outside of the circle.

She crossed her arms and watched carefully. She didn't know Tamika, but people like her loved cheating.

Tamika went first. She nailed a hard drive right in the middle of the backboard that a goalie would've stopped, had she been there.
Reese dribbled once and took a hard shot on cage. It hit the corner, bounding from the side panel to the back panel with a BANG BANG.

(Yes. Tamika's was hard, but if there was a goalie, the goalie would've blocked it. Reese's hit on the side, so it was a good angle and made extra noise by hitting the side and the back of the cage.)

A cheered loudly, flipping off Tamika in the process.

Reese giggled.
Tamika curled her lip. "Round 2," she snarled. Reese watched Tamika shoot. The ball went wide, missing the cage by roughly 5 yards. Tamika growled.
Reese tapped the ball and sailed a perfect chip shot into the upper right-hand corner.

She noticed the way Tamika's anger clouded her shot, seemed to muddle her focus, and grinned. "R, E, E S E, go go let's go let's go Reese!" She cheered, throwing in a cartwheel for extra drama.

Reese grinned again.
"Round 3," Tamika spat. She shot hard and hit the center of the cage again, similar to her first shot. A smug look of approval dominated her face.
Reese prepared to take her shot. Right as she swung, Tamika screamed. Reese jerked up, topping the ball. It flew haphazardly to the right of the cage.
"Tamika!" she accused.
"What?" the senior asked, feigning innocence.

A leisurely made her way over to the two of them, wrapping an arm around Tamika's shoulder with a deadly smile. "Would you like me t' give you somethin' t' really scream about? I could use a new punching bag, mine split open."

Tamika paled, looking at Reese.
The freshman shrugged.
