Hunter’s jaw clenched. She would not cry. She would not cry. She crumpled the note up and was about to throw it across the room when she stopped. Carefully, as if it were a priceless object, She tucked it into the pocket of her jeans. “Ready to go?” She asked Order, her voice cold and emotionless. It was just like Sam. He had died to save her, when she didn’t need saving. It was the one time when the quest didn’t get finished. This time, she vowed that it would be different. Not only would she save Kye, she would hit him so hard that he would wish he were dead. That would be for making her think that he was going to die.
Order arrived shortly, humming with power.
“Can we go now?” Hunter asked her.
Order looked at her sadly. “Let’s go.”
