A superhero roleplay where your character’s powers contradict them as a person. So, so much.
Based off that one Tumblr post.
The heroes think the villain is a young androgynous person (they can’t actually tell what gender they are) who calls themself Thanatos and is a necromancer.
That will be all for backstory as of right now.

Looks: Dark espresso eyes and dark skin, thick eyebrows, curvy and somewhat overweight, short, hair dyed an auburn color and pulled up in a messy, curly bun, a chemical burn on her hand
Personality: awkward, spacey, makes a lot of badly timed jokes, dark humor, very much an introvert, social anxiety, laughs at inappropriate times, enthusiastic, spontaneous, witty, very very intelligent
Power: The ability to feel and somewhat manipulate the emotions of those around her.
Contradiction: Dara's emotional intelligence is extremely low. She's extremely grounded and relies on science and hard facts, not emotions. She's inept at understanding her own emotions, which makes the empathy thing even more annoying. Feeling the emotions of others but still not being able to connect to them is what she hates most about her ability.
Backstory: Dara was raised in a strict, abusive, religious household. She hated emotions in general because her mother and father taught her to not let emotions rule her, but lashed out in anger and fear at any given moment. She taught herself to shut off her emotions and delved deep into science and math for a distraction. However, when she became a teenager she started to feel her parents emotions, which almost drove her crazy. The only thing that helped her was spending time alone or with her twin brother, whose emotions were easy to understand. That didn't do enough, though, and she avoids people as much as possible.
Other: Has a twin named Daso who nicknamed her Squirrelly because she's always snacking and her thoughts move impossibly fast, like a squirrel's. She also wears a woven bracelet he made for her, even though she claims to hate sentimental stuff.

Looks: Long undercut with the long part being curly and a dull reddish-brown that's about neck length, pale, thin but muscular, lots of freckles, tall (like 6'), small scar on his left eyebrow, dull greyish-purple eyes, tribal tattoos on his arms
Clothing: Faded red hoodie, black leather jacket, dog tags, ripped blue jeans, red converse, rectangular wire frame glasses
Personality: Generally laid back, a bit of a comic relief, really kind despite his appearance, a bit depressed but doesn't show it, prefers not to fight but will if he has to
Power: Weather (specifically electricity)
Contradiction: He's really laid back and doesn't like to hurt people but his powers are geared towards inflicting damage. Electricity is also energetic and he's not really energetic?
Backstory: To summarize, his dad is a demon who's spent most of his life trying to convince Kaz to work for him. His mom is currently disabled and he's been taking care of her for the past couple of years. Lots of angst, bit of soul-selling but his entire backstory would take me a page to write lol
Other: Likes chill music/abstract 2000's music, owns a motorcycle (it's a red 70's style Honda Rebel), wants to be in the airforce

Looks: Curly black hair in a swept to the side, Brown eyes, and some freckles dotted around his face. He wears a grey hoodie over a t-shirt, black cargo pants, and a cheap watch. He also wears glasses.
Personality: Optimistic, cheerful, supportive, can become quite loud when riled up, will fight you if you hurt someone he cares about
Power: Chlorokinesis (manipulation and creating plants)
Contradiction: He has hay-fever
Backstory: His mother was weak and died a few days after he was born. His dad was a scientist who did experiments and stuff, he just happened to be one of them. When he did escape he traveled around a bit, trying to help people the best he could.
Other: He's short-sighted (hence the glasses), he's also pretty good at archery but turns out that doesn't tend to pop up in everyday life much, a fan of Marvel (he loves Hawkeye)
