Zackary started slightly and looked at her. He wasn’t the best with people suddenly talking to him. It was… just a thing.
“Huh? Oh, I’m alright.”
Contracts (CLOSED)
Juliet blinked. "You lie once more. You're not eating and you've been staring at Todd like he murdered your mother or something like that." She pointed out, jutting her fork over to Todd as he wiped down a table.
Zackary hastily went back to eating. “Mm. I suppose I have been.” He shrugged a bit.
Concern covered her gaze as she put her fork down. She took Zack's hand. "What's wrong?" Why was he acting so strange all of a sudden? "Do you….know him?"
"Thinking about how much of a headache it's going to be to get back to my last job employer. I'll have men in my tail left and right, that's going to be fun." She scoffed sarcastically.
Avi thought for a second as she wrung out the clothes. "Why don't you stick with me and my acquaintance for a bit? I'm kinda on the run from a few people too, and I've learned how to avoid capture. And now I've got the insurance of Sariel. I made a contract with her to help me avoid detection/capture."
Concern covered her gaze as she put her fork down. She took Zack's hand. "What's wrong?" Why was he acting so strange all of a sudden? "Do you….know him?"
Zackary puckered his lips over the fork. “Mmno,” He mumbled after a second. “I don’t.” He swallowed the food he was chewing and set the fork down.
Juliet gave his hand a squeeze. She looked into his eyes, remembering the first time she was trapped in his gray gaze. She wasn't scared anymore, so she smiled instead. "Do you like the food?"
Zackary turned his eyes so they were on hers. They were still sharp but soft, somehow, at the same time.
“Yeah. The food’s great.”
"Good." She picked up her fork and continued to eat. She hummed softly, feeding Qhuinn every other moment. She would let the moment go, let it fade. New memories! she told herself
Zackary really hoped she didn’t remember his jealousy. Sure, he was fiercely protective of anyone who was nice to him. That’s understandable. He grabbed another forkful of food to distract himself.
(Right Zachary…. riiiiight…)
@Jacks347, did you still want Lillian to make a deal with Florence? It's been a while and I honestly forgot that I had put her in this rp.))
Drumming her fingers on the table, Sariel cast a glance at the bathroom door. Avilasa had gone into the women's bathroom with the girl that was covered in blood and had been in there for quite a while. If something had happened to her I'd know. Sariel thought, looking back down to her food and then to the wallet that Avilasa had left her with. "Human money is so odd," she mumbled, clearing her throat.
(Right Zachary…. riiiiight…)
BRUH OH MY GOD
ZACKARY
@Jacks347, did you still want Lillian to make a deal with Florence? It's been a while and I honestly forgot that I had put her in this rp.))
(Yeah sounds good!)
Juliet took her phone from her pocket and checked the clock. "Hmm… decent enough." She put it back in her pocket. Smiling, she leaned in and kissed Qhuinn's cheek.
Zackary left some macaroni for the other two and went to the other sides, just eating what was put in front of him and not paying attention. Eating was nice, especially when it was distracted eating.
(Pardon me… ZacKary.)
Todd returned to their teacher, holding a pitcher. "Hey, baby doll, you need a refill?" He asked. Qhuinn reached out for Todd, cooing. Todd booped his nose and cooed back. Juliet laughed. "No, I'm fine, Todd. Thanks." Todd looked to her. "Hey, why don't you call me anymore? You take my little dude away from me and cut me off?" He tilted his head to the side, blonde locks falling into his eyes.
Juliet sighed, giving sheepish look. "A lot has happened. Maybe I'll explain it to you one day. But, I'll make it up to you. Dinner! You, me, the babe, and Zack." She jutted her thumb over to Zack. Todd looked at him like he had just noticed him. "Oh, Hello! I'm Todd, my dude!"
Zackary gave Todd a special kind of look. It was a carefully hidden but dangerous one. The kinda look a guy in the fourth quarter of a football game would give a case of beer. Murder. Imminent murder.
Zackary gave a slight laugh and a weird high-pitchiness came to his voice, as if he were mocking Todd.
“Ha-Hey!”
(smirks at this reaction)
(That’s the best frickin metaphor I’ve used
Ever)
((I love that Zack hates him! XD))
(It’s so wonderfulllll)
Todd acted oblivious to the look and the mocking. "Nice to meet you, Zack! You a friend of Julie's?" His eyes narrowed slightly. He knew Juliet would never associate herself with such a sketchy looking dude. He looked like a rough-rider. No good.
Julie…. how'd you get tangled up with him.
Juliet nodded, her eyes flickering between the two. "Yeah, Zack has been such a help to me lately."
Zackary cocked his jaw in a disgusted looking manner, as if he could read Todd’s thoughts. Which actually was a possibility. Zackary had grown to be a very good Human-Reader (or so Demons called it) over the past few hundred years.
“Uhuh. A friend.”
(That’s the best frickin metaphor I’ve used
Ever)
(Lotus has the best metaphors I've ever seen. Hey Lotus, would you mind me borrowing a couple for a book I'm writing?)
((Thank you, and sure!))
(Me watching these two: fight, fight, fight, fight!)
Juliet gave a nervous laugh, cutting Todd off before he could reply. She coughed a bit. "Ya'know, Todd, I could really go for another cup of water." She wheezed, holding up her cup that wad completely full.
"Uh-huh… sure, sweetheart, I got it." Todd drone distractedly, his brown eyes on Zack's as he backed away. Juliet watched until he disappeared. Her eyes slid to Zack, narrowed and darker than their usual icy color.
Zackary kept the look on his face until he couldn’t see Todd anymore. He glanced at Julie, immediately his gaze softened, but it was forced. He didn’t smile.
He cleared his throat and sat back in the booth, falling silent.
((Thank you, and sure!))
(Me watching these two: fight, fight, fight, fight!)
(Thank you! And I'm thinking the same thing.)
Juliet watched him before snapping her fingers at him. "Hey! What was that? Trying to start a fist fight in the restaurant?" she scoffed in disbelief. Why had he acted like that when Todd was being nothing but sunshiney and kind?
