Liam sighed and eventually sat up reluctantly, “I should head back home.” He said, rubbing his facs with one hand and stretching his back out, it cracking faintly.

Cyprus pouted, rising to his feet as well. "So soon?" he complained, though he knew that Liam would have to go no matter what he did
“I don’t want to, but I have an early class tomorrow. I’ll stay long tomorrow, promise.” He said, making an ‘x’ over his heart.
"Promises are a dangerous thing," Cyprus hummed, a wry, teasing smile spreading across his face. As usual, he bowed with a grin. "Farewell, sir."
“Good evening, Majesty.” Liam said, bowing once again and heading back home, a sad feeling in his heart but the locket underneath warmed a little, as if comforting him and he smiled.
Cyprus smiled as he watched him go before turning to walk towards the forest. He wandered through the trees until coming upon a clearing, where his heart fell. Where the spaceship his host usually came to pick him up in was nothing but an empty clearing of slightly dented grass. He sat down on a stump, a sad look in his eyes. They hadn't come for him. Jay hadn't come back for him
The next night, Liam was early. He had said he’d stay for longer and that was what he was planning on doing. He hadn’t taken the locket off that night or today, it was still neatly tucked under his shirt. When he walked into the clearing, he could tell something was off.
Cyprus was behind the grave marker, his form complete but seemingly swaying and breaking like smoke. He had his knees pulled up to his chest, his arm wrapped around his knees while he stared dejectedly at the grass at his feet
Liam frowned when he couldn’t see Cyprus but knew he was there somehow. He walked to the grave marker where he normally was and found him sitting on the other side, “Cyprus? Is everything okay?” He asked quietly, moving to the other side of the marker and crouching down in front of him.
"Jay didn't come back for me last night," Cyprus mumbled, violet eyes wide and glassy with tears. He looked like he had been crying earlier, and he continued to stare at the grass
Liam couldn’t believe it. Who would be that mean to leave someone behind? Clearly this Jay guy. He didn’t think words would do justice to what Cyprus was feeling and all Liam could do was hug him, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.” He said quietly.
Cyprus sniffled, leaning into the touch. "He didn't even leave a note. He just…he just didn't come back for me," he said, his words sounding more choked the longer he spoke
Liam held him tighter and rubbed a hand over his back to calm him down, “I know, I’m sorry. Words are probably useless but I’m really sorry.” He pulled back a little to look Cyprus in the eyes and wiped away one of his tears.
Cyprus suddenly wrapped his arm around Liam, breaking out into loud sobs as he buried his face in the crook of the other's neck. "Why is everyone so mean to me?" he sniffled. "You're the only person who's nice to me."
“Hey, hey, it’s okay,” Liam said, placing a hand on the others head, “I don’t know why everyone’s mean to you, but if they are you shouldn’t care about them, they’re not worth your time.” Liam made small circles on Cyprus’s back to try and calm him down.
“We made a pact,” Cyprus choked out. “I lived in that moron’s head for nearly three years. He could have died without me,” he sobbed
“I know, but he’s not worth your time if he would just leave without saying anything.” He said quietly. He hugged Cyprus a little tighter.
Cyprus continued to sob against Liam, his body shuddering and dissolving around the edges. “Normally-Normally Icarus would at least let me back on the ship, but I guess Jay made them forget me.”
“Sh, it’s okay, deep breaths,” Liam said, rubbing his back, “Jay sounds like a piece of trash for doing this to you, and clearly the others weren’t very good friends if they could forget you like that.”
“But he’s not a piece of trash. He’s always nice to everyone, just not to me. And I know he hates me for hurting him, but I thought he knew I was getting better,” Cyprus sobbed
“Clearly he didn’t know.” Liam pulled back a little so he could look at Cyrpus’s face, “It’s going to be okay, yeah? You’re going to be okay.” He said softly.
Cyprus sniffled a bit before nodding. “I’m s-sorry you had to see like this,” he mumbled, hand reaching up to wipe at his splotchy face
“Don’t worry about it, at least I know you have more then two emotions now.” He replied, giving him a small smile.
"Thanks," Cyprus replied dryly before using the end of his cloak to wipe at his eyes
“But, if you do need anyone to talk to then just give me a shout and I’ll be here.” Liam said, leaning back on his arms casually.
Cyprus nodded before making himself comfortable leaning against the grave marker. "Maybe he's just…stressed, or something. I mean we technically can't be separated, I'm connected to him all the time. I just wish he wasn't so mean."
“I know, but there’s nothing that you can do if he isn’t here. If.. when he comes back for you, try and talk civilly, none of the sarcastic nonsense.” Liam saturated to pick at the grass.
"Liam, that's like asking a jaguar to talk sensibly with its prey," Cyprus scoffed. "Apologies sir rabbit, but it appears I have to consume your flesh to survive. Truly sorry about all that, but I'll make sure to make your death as painless as possible," he said sarcastically
Liam rolled his eyes, “See? You can barely go five minutes without being sarcastic in some way. It wouldn’t hurt to try and be nice to him so he is nice to you.”
"But that's not fair," Cyprus complained before shifting so he could lay on his back. "He can apologize to me first. Then I might think of being slightly less…me."
