or, if none of those seem appealing, maybe a curse could have brought the different worlds of fictional characters together, in one of their worlds? {an example would be the characters of Harry Potter suddenly ending up in OUAT's world, or anything similar. they're stolen from their homes and thrust into another}.

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of curse landed the OUAT gang in Hogwarts or something XD
