Jace grinned at him and nodded. "He's always very… uh… stubborn."

He chuckles, "Good to know." he ruffles Jace's hair gently, smiling a bit. He looks towards Zackary. "You, mister, seriously need to take a day off, including today and tomorrow."

Zackary glared at him through one eye. "I don't need tomorrow off. Today's the only time I can be off, so be it."

Seth places his hands on his hips. "I called in this morning, telling them you need a few days off." He growls. "And you're going to stick to that."

"Noooo…. why did you do that?" Zackary straightened up off of his hand. "I… I'm fine!"

"Look at you! You're a complete an utter mess! You're staying here, end of story!" He barks, waving his index finger at the other. "Keep acting like this and I'll have you take off a week of work." He growls.

"You can't control if I go to work or not! I can go whenever I want!" Zackary snapped stubbornly.

"Look at you! You're in pain and you're hurting! There is no way I"m letting you go to work like that you dumbass!" He cries.

"I'm not hurting which isn't even a genuine participle to begin with! I'm fine, and you need to stop worrying so much!!"

"I WORRY BECAUSE I LOVE YOU DAMMIT!!" He yells. He instantly recoils, his face turning 50 shades of red as he hides behind his hands. Why… why did he yell that? Because I do… love him?

Zackary stared at him with his hand still dangling in the air. "What…? Why?"

He backs up, "I'm gonna head out…" He mutters, walking towards the door, still covering his face.

Jace started to tear up. "Nooo!! We didn't finish the day yet!" He hopped out of his seat and grabbed Seth's hand.

Seth turns at him, his eyes downcast. He felt embarrassed, shy and really nervous. He chuckles lightly. "I uh… I got…" He sighs softly.

Zackary sighed and stood. "You have nothing going on. Sit." He gestured to a chair. Jace tugged on Seth's hand.

Seth clears his throat, averting his eyes. He sits and crosses his arms over his chest, avoiding eye contact.

"Jace, go eat, okay?" Zackary looked down at his son, who obliged politely and went to go eat. Zackary sat down across from Seth and looked at him quizzically.

Seth sighs softly, "What?" He snaps. His ears are still a faint red.

"Don't what me. I heard what you said." Zackary threw a leg over the other and leaned back in his chair.

He's quiet, his teeth clenched slightly. Fuck… I screwed up…

Zackary smirked a little. "I just wanted to know if it's true or not."

"Yeesh… Are you trying to embarrass me now?" He sighs. He shuts his eyes, "Yes."

"Hm." Zackary looked thoughtful. "Why? No one's loved me before… at least, romantically."

He looks down. "I… don't know… Your stubbornness? Your brilliance…" He sighs softly, "Honestly the list goes on and on." He waves his hand dismissively. "Not that you'd care…" He mutters.

Zackary tossed the hair out of his face and smirked a little, despite how nervous he felt. "What if I did care, huh? I enjoyed getting to know you for the past couple of weeks."

He looks at the other, then down. "You're playing with me aren't you?" He hides his face in his hands, feeling like his insides are being torn to shreds.

"No. Why would I be?" Zackary raised an eyebrow.

"Why else? Unless you actually like me?" He mutters, sighing softly.

"Perhaps I do." Zackary felt his ears heat up.

He blinks rapidly and looks up, his eyes wide. His heart thudding loudly. "S-seriously?" He mutters softly.
