Dove's bowl was impossible tiny and within moments it was empty of its contents - she couldn't wait till they considered her grownup enough for the big kennels.

The doors opened again, a worker coming in with a new pup. She seemed quite small in the human's arms as they tossed the poor pup into one of the cages. She let out a soft whine at the impact and watched at the worker left.
Lupin looked up at the new arrival and broke out of his cage again as the worker left. He padded over to the other puppy. "Hello! What's your name?"
Dove opened her cage and padded over to where the new dog had been put - they didn't get new arrivals very often. The last new puppy was Lupin and that was ages ago.
"Hi, I'm Dove." said Dove as she walked over to the cute little pupper.

Nala was huddled at the back of the small cage until she heard the voices. They were pups like her! Well they didn't look like her, but that didn't matter.
"I'm Nala… who are you?" she asked, getting closer to the barred door.
"My name's Lupin! It means… something… in some weird human language. I dunno, it's not that important." Lupin could remember when he was brought in. He was found on the side of the road, and only a month old when he was brought to this place.

Merlin could hear Lupin and Dove talking once more and decided it was safe. Opening his cage, he trotted over to where they were and saw the new little pup. He began to get a bit excited as he approached since it had been so long since any new pups had been brought in. “Hey!” He smiled. “My name is Merlin.”

"Hello," she greeted in return. All of these dogs seemed friendly, so they were probably good to trust. She sat close to the door and her short tail began to wag.

Emmy ran over to the new dog’s cage and said, “Do you want to get out? Just bite the lock like… yeah, like that!”

Nala did as she was told, and the door popped loose, letting her out. She looked up at the strange new dogs, but felt at ease. They were nice and they helped her!
“Who are you?” Emmy asked.
"Wish I could've opened my cage right away when I got here, but I didn't have any teeth!" Lupin laughed, wagging his tail. "These guys had to do it for me."
“It was no problem,” Emmy giggled.

“It smells wierd, huh?” Emmy said.
