OKay so

It's a dystopian universe where scientists screwed up so bad that the world is falling apart around them. Things are just starting to disappear. So the scientists and government take people and hook them up to machines that put them to sleep (not permanently). They insert a drug that makes them dream vividly, and they use those dreams to create the reality in the waking world. The only problem is that people dream up some weird crap. That also means that the real world is constantly changing so you never know what you're gonna wake up to. The shifts in the machine are rotated so they always have new information streaming in.

Both. We're trying to escape our world out into space (which is where some have fled to) and trying to survive

Bro the scientists can control what goes in and out but sometimes they slip up and in that case we can control what happens in the RP

So just for clarification: People are put to sleep for a night, and whatever they dream is reflected into reality when they wake up?

(But if their bad dreams are becoming reality why are the people outside not waking them up? we need to fix this)
