The blond girl was able to miss some of the man's swings, but after a couple minutes, she was thrown out of the circle. Rylan sighed and turned around again.

Santiago watched for a moment longer before facing Rylan, leaning his good arm against the bar counter. “That was pretty close, I thought she had it for a while there.”

Rylan nodded in agreement. "She's smaller and faster. If she had proper fighting techniques. . ." She sighed, watching the blond girl limp out of the circle.

Santiago nodded in agreement. “Could have used the man’s own weight against him,” he commented.

"She'll learn. Maybe you can teach a few of the kids in the slums how to fight." Rylan replied, nudging Santiago.

“Me?” Santiago asked with a smile. “I haven’t been in a spar in a while. I think that was one of the first things I learned before I was promoted into technology.”

"Oh, a tech boy?" Rylan grinned. "What would you do, exactly. Type on computers all day?"

Santiago chuckled and shook his head. “You’re teasing me, compañera. And yes, I did some of that, but I also helped in the engineering departments, developing new technologies and occasionally weapons.”

"I love it when you talk technology to me." She smiled and took a sip from her drink.

Santiago almost choked on his drink from laughter. He cleared his throat and arched a brow. “Oh yeah?”

"Yeah, definitely." She nodded, grinning.

“Well, lucky for you, I know a lot about technology,” Santiago said with cunning smile, and he leaned foreword against the bar counter.

"I can already start to see that, sweetheart." Rylan leaned closer to him, her lips brushing against his.

Santiago grinned brightly and chuckled. “It’s very difficult to be in public when you do things like that, compañera.”

She laughed and shrugged. "I'm a very dangerous person."

“Believe me, I know that already,” Santiago responded, drawing circles on her knee with his thumb.

Rylan leaned in a kissed him softly. After a moment, she broke away and smiled. "Just returning the favor."

Santiago laughed softly and smiled. “That was a great way to do so.”

"Definitely." Rylan laughed. Clatters and the sound of broken glasses could be heard as another Skiz fight broke out.

Santiago’s eyebrows raised as he heard the fight. He turned to watch it for a moment.

Republic soldiers filed into the bar, trying to stop the fight. Others walked in menacingly, pointing guns at everyone. Every muscle in Rylan tensed up.
"Santiago. . ." She whispered. "We need to go. Now."

“Oh god..” Santiago muttered. He nodded toward the back exit and got up slowly, keeping his head down.

Rylan followed after Santiago, limping with her new leg. She tried to stand up straighter and looked down to make sure it was covered.

Harlow stiffened and slowly got up, a hand resting on the gun beneath her shirt. “Back exits are normally behind the bar,” she muttered to Rylan.

Rylan nodded walking towards the back. People filed out in front of her, and at least twenty different teens were in the alley. She continued to walk after Santiago and Harlow, trying to steady her breath. It would just slow them down if Rylan said that she was tired.

//yOU’RE BACK :D

Harlow turned around and put an arm around Rylan, trying to steady her.

"Sorry, just. . . out of shape." She sighed, leaning against Harlow.

“It’s fine,” she said, sneaking a glance back. “I guess we better head back to the base.”
