“Armand?”, Yuki called out. “Is that you?”

(HAMILTRASH REPORTING FOR DUTY)
The song drifting hypnotizingly down the hall caused Kodiak to stop short. "R-Rowen? Where are you?"

Rowan stopped mid-verse at the familiar sound of Kodiak's voice. She scrambled to her feet, half falling over. "Kodiak?!"

@SincereBeastie

Armand was quickly snapped out of the moment. He jumped, stopping his humming and listened. Now wouldn't be a good time for them to meet up with Kodiak, but he didn't know how to defuse the situation without an explosion. He wanted to tell them that he'd be fine tomorrow, but he also didn't know if they'd trust him, and if someone found out he told them…

@Oakie Dokie

"Rowan! Where are you?" Kodiak scanned the hall frantically, sticking his arms out of the bars and leaning on the metal barrier with all his might. "Are you alright?"

"Yuki and I are on the roof! We're fine!" Rowan yelled in response, crawling over to the hatch and opening it up so she could hear him better. She couldn't make it back down the steps without Yuki's help.

Yuki heard Kodiak yelling. “Kodiak! You alright!?”, she asked.

"Armand." Rowan called out, looking over at him. "Is he okay?" She asked, wanting to be prepared for whatever she might see.

Petree felt infuriated. Was Nyir enjoying this? Seriously?
"He won't have the guts to kill me!" she burst out, "we're friends! Are so you wrapped up in your society that you don't understand friendship?"

Anni Loie

(yes indeed the feels)

Anni Loie

Ainnik looked back up at the window he'd pulled Petree from. President Harris's sword was still there.
Ha, Ainnik thought triumphantly, I'll be President Harris's most trusted advisor after I return her sword. That thief Petree.
Inside, he felt a bit- bad about tricking Petree. She'd never been loved before… but Ainnik couldn't help noticing that Petree was a lot more open and softer than she was three years ago, when she nearly killed one of the guards and stole that sword right from under Harris's nose.

@wake-read-eat-sleep

(great. F*** Ainnik.)

@WriteOutofTime

Nyir shook her head hastily. "I'm not amused, thief. I asked if you knew him and you said not well. If he is capable of killing you, then you are the one we will choose."

@SincereBeastie

Armand looked to the two females on the other side of the roof. "Kodiak is safe. He may be a traitor but we know him well." He said the second sentence a little softer. The guy was sure to nearly always get what he wanted. He seemed to have a lot of friends.

"Well I'm supposed to be a prisoner, but you don't seem to be keeping me under heavy guard. You must get breakouts all the time, honestly." Rowan teased lightly, crossing her arms and giving him a pointed look. She was still sitting next to the hatch, her healing leg stretched out in front of her.

@SincereBeastie

"And you've tried so hard to escape," He sent back, crossing his arms as well. "We misplaced our trust, and that's when the breakouts happen." Truthfully, Armand had never really tried to keep the rebels locked up but security was better, and it wasn't his job to keep them in. He had no physical ability to do that. He was just there to play the doctor.

(G'night!)

Rowan sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose for a minute. "You know I can't leave anyone behind." She glanced at Yuki. "She won't either. We all won't. It's a rebel thing." Rowan shrugged. "I don't imagine you've always been such a realist, Armand. Do you still have a spark? A dream? A purpose? And no, serving the President doesn't count." Rowan interrogated, a far off look reentering her soft, doe eyes. "It seems like I'm the only dreamer around these days. But by the time I'm gone I'm gonna help a lot of people, you know that?" She said, more outloud to herself than to Armand. She stared at Yuki, as if trying to decode her personality.

@SincereBeastie

(Awh, dang, bye…)

@Oakie Dokie

"Yuki!" Kodiak called in reply. "I've been sentenced to a gladiator duel. Get out, please."

@m1dn1g7t_ri0ts_13

Yuki was glad Kodiak wasn’t hurt. She didn’t want anyone else to get hurt other than herself. “No, I’m gonna get you out!”, she yelled. “Where are you?”

"Yuki go get him out. I'll be fine." Rowan ordered, looking back at Yuki, her lips pressed together with determination.

@Oakie Dokie

"I-I'll be alright. Y'all need to go, now. I'll be okay, I figure something out." Kodiak knew this wasn't true; he was good as dead. But that didn't mean they could save him. No, he was way beyond that point.

"Kodiak we can't go anywhere. I… I can't walk." Rowan shouted back in reply. She paused a minute. "Not yet at least." Rowan finished. The truth was that she'd probably be fine by tomorrow morning thanks to Armand, but there was no way Rowan was leaving Kodiak here. Especially not while his life was being bargained off. No. Never. She'd fake illness if she had to and find some way to get inside the area. There has to be some way out of this…

@m1dn1g7t_ri0ts_13

“I’m not leaving you!”, Yuki said. “I can break you out. I’m strong enough to damage the cell, so you can get out! If you stay you’re going to die! Even if you win the gladiator fight, they’ll find a way to kill you.”

@Oakie Dokie

"Goddammit, get out!" Kodiak replied. "I'm trying to save your asses."

@SincereBeastie

(DX I'M SO SAD, I'm really sorry I had to go to the bank…)

@SincereBeastie

"You two. You aren't breaking him out." Armand was closer to the two of them now, his eyes shining in contrast to the dark, "This can't be stopped now. If he escapes, they won't stop coming after him, until he's dead." Armand focused his eyes on Rowan, calling to Kodiak, "You'll want to encourage your… compadres, to leave before security is called. Trust me." He worded it in a way that would sound to anyone else like a loyalist being a prick, but trying to hint with his last two words that this fight wasn't necessary.
