She repeated his name. "Micheal…"
She knitted her eyebrows, sure she had heard it before. She pushed the thought away and sat up slowly using her hands to push herself up. The ground felt odd to her. It had a different feel than the one in the sky. This one felt more…Real?

Micheal rose with her, careful not to get too close. “Yep-yes. Micheal. What is your name, lady?” He studied her with sad, soft eyes. She was certainly pretty but was very… odd looking.
"I-"
The humans here have a different way of names.
After spending her time listening to wish after wish, she knew they didn't refer to themselves as numbers.
"I don't have one."
“You don’t?” Micheal tilted his head. He shifted the knife in his hands, twirling it nervously. “Wh-why not?” He tilted his head the other way.
"Because-" she glanced to the knife spinning in his hand "I mean, it's a long story." She made a guess that saying that she was a star from the very sky anove them would freak him out.
As Stars, everyone was a number. It was just easy to keep track of. Of course, before that came where in the sky they were located. Hers was Far Left Stat 1334 meaning that she would normally shine on the far left of the sky and the 1334 to begin to shine. It kept things in order.
Micheal nodded. “Fine. So do you want a name?” He knew not to pry in people’s business. It was unfair and quite stupid to do. He learned that pretty early on in his life.
"I- I don't know."
This was true. There was a reason why Earth was called the Land of the Broken. She'd heard millions of names being wished to be a part of someone's life. It was painful to watch the way they seemed to attach to the names. Then again, maybe it was the actual people…
On the other hand, having an actual name, not a number, might be nice. Having something that made her her.
Micheal blinked. “That is not an answer to the question, lady. It is very rude to call someone ‘Nothing’ or ‘Thing’.”
After all, I would know… He sighed deeply.
Or numbers. "I guess."
As a number, she was grouped together with the countless others. With names, one person seemed to be one person.
Micheal nodded. “Okay. That is a start. What would you like the be called?” He tilted his head a bit to the side again. It was a habit he never broke.
A lock of hair fell onto her face as she was about the answer, she brushed it out of the way. It was always doing that. It went down to her mid back ending in the firery red tips. She swept all of her hair to one side. "I don't really know."
Micheal watched her hair flop about. It was silky and soft-looking. Micheal wanted to touch it, to test how soft it truly was, but he didn’t. He kept his hands to himself like a good boy.
“May I suggest a name?”
"Why not?" She had no idea what she should be called having no real idea how names connected to ones being. She looked down at her long sleeve white shirt, now stained slightly along with her white pants. It was either that or a white dress as a Star. She looked to his clothing. It had so much to it. It wasn't simple like hers. It was different and new, but she knew she liked it.
Micheal carefully looked her up and down, sitting next to her. She was definitely not from this Earth. No one falls from the sky and survives. No one has such silky hair or pretty eyes. Or sharp features, softened with confusion. Compared to him, she was an Angel.
“Red.” He caught himself staring at her hair and face.
She thought for a moment. "I'll take it." It had a nice sweet ring to it with an almost tart ending.
She looked to him to find him staring. Confusion filled her eyes."What?" Do I look bad?
Micheal looked up hastily, smiling a bit in his awkwardness. He hated when someone caught him staring. He just knew how to appreciate attractive people.
“N-nothing. I’m glad you like it.”
She- No, Red took a quick glance around. The forest didn't seem to dense which let the chill of the wind through. Her skin and her small frame meant that she didn't have anything to stop the cold from entering her.
Red crossed her arms over her chest in attempt to keep her warmth in.
"Where are we?"
Micheal noticed her shiver. He wanted to offer her his jacket but couldn’t. The insides were crusted with blood and it would most definitely show his self-harm wounds.
“We’re in a small town off of New York.”
The city constantly surrounded with blue. She nodded. "Okay." Red looked around again now noticing the blue radiating into the sky and every now and then a whisp going up to the stars.
It won't do any good.
She sighed. "Okay, well, I've got to find my way around. The stars won't let me come back no matter how much I beg." The last part was hidden in a mutter under her breath hoping he couldn't hear. While she knew she wouldn't be able to fit in as well, she knew she would have to try her hardest.
Micheal blinked a couple times. His only stem of hope couldn’t leave. But he couldn’t ask her to stay, either.
“Er… you’re going alone out to New York City… do you know how dangerous it is at night?”
She stood up and began to dut herself off. "No," she took a quick glance to him, "I don't. But I don't really care."
She didn't really have anything to make her care. She had nothing to lose. She had lost everything that she had before and gained the guarantee of heartbreak if she stayed any longer. Every human experiences heartbreak. Everyone get that blue around them, but she didn't want that.
The dirt fell back to the ground along with anything else she picked up. She turned one last time. "Thanks for the name by the way." With that she turned around, ready to walk into anything and not care.

Micheal bit his lip and didn’t rise. He was foolish to think he could help and have a sort of reward with it. He shifted so his hands and knife were back in his pocket, and waited for her to leave, not responding to her. If she wanted to be foolish, fine.

Red continued to walk something feeling her heart. She looked down to see a faint orange line around herself.
Guilt?
She pushed it away and kept walking. That is, until the world spun once more. She tried to keep a steady pace and keep her knees from wobbling but couldn't. She placed her hand on the trunk of a tree steadying herself.

Micheal took no notice. He just sighed and looked up at the stars. Maybe someone else will come along. Someone who can help.

Red finally caught her breath, somehow out of it after only a few feet of walking. She thought for a moment. The bark on the tree was digging into her hand slightly.
Maybe a little help wouldn't hurt?
"Hey, what do you say you show me around New York or something?" She paused for a moment before adding on, hoping to hide how she might need him. "You look lonely."

Micheal glanced up, hardly looking over his shoulder at her. “Sure. I guess I could show you around.”
He didn’t want to leave his spot, but he forced himself to stand and walk over to her.
Relief washed over her as she heard the crunch of the leaves beneath his feet. "Yeah, thanks." There was still a tad of breathlessness stuck in her voice, but somehow she managed to lean less on the tree.
Micheal glanced around. “We can get out this way.” He pointed through the place where he enered, a little farther right than where they were. He glanced at her.
“Need help? Or can you walk?” He’d expect the fall to be really bad on her somehow. Extraterrestrial or not, falling from the sky… hurt.
Red kept her eyes to the ground seeing as they were closed and her face scrunched in pain.
Why does it take so much effort to just exist?
She thought about how it might not only be hitting the ground, but also transferring to the atmosphere there on Earth. "I, u, yeah. I'm-" A sharp pain struck her lungs causing her to wince. Their atmosphere is odd. Her voice filled with a little pain, but she did her best to hide it. "I'm fine, thanks."
She took her hand off the trunk of the tree only to begin to fall to the ground. Not unconscious, just if existing took effort, standing took more than she could handle at the moment.
Micheal grabbed her shoulders quickly. He quickly recoiled, though, remembering the little cuts he stabbed into himself. They could stain her shirt. He blushed a little and looked down at his feet.
