Eve sat on a nearby bench and watched. While she had strong telekinetic abilities, her mother insisted that she be put on support rather than training to fight.

Eve shot to her feet, hearing the sound too. Her eyes glowed.

Silva immediately looked at Dowling, who nodded. "Everyone get inside the school, now," Dowling ordered. As the students fled, she and Silva headed toward the noise.

Eve rushed up behind Anya and gripped her wrist. "Come on," she whispered. "Let's go."

"My parents will take care of it. Burned Ones travel alone. A single Burned One is no match for them. Please, come with me," Eve pleaded. "I need you to be safe."

"Thank you," Eve murmured, wrapping Anya in a tight hug before tugging her back towards the school. "Come on. Let's hurry."

Eve glanced over her shoulder as they went. Wherever her parents had gone, they were out of eyesight. She trembled as she ran, hoping they'd be alright.

"I know," Eve replied quietly. "It doesn't stop me from worrying."

Eve let herself be comforted. Tentatively, she reached out with her powers to see if she could detect her parents, but it was hard to tell over the mass of anxious students swarming just inside the school gate.

Eve clung tighter to Anya. "I can't," she whispered worriedly. "I can't find them…"

Eve closed her eyes and felt Anya. Everything about her was so familiar now, it was easy to recognize her. With her first goal complete, she extended her abilities wider than they'd ever gone before. She began to feel lightheaded, so she leaned against Anya for support, but finally, she felt her mother's familiar emotions. "I feel her," she whispered, a wave of relief washing over her.

Then Eve's expression contorted. "I feel him too. But… they're both worried. Way too worried. And… exhausted?" Her eyes flew open, and she lurched against Anya. "We have to help them."

Eve shook her head and followed Anya distantly. Her heart and mind were both racing.

Silva stabbed a Burned One and twisted the blade through its chest before turning to face another one while Dowling was taking on three at once. The woman looked plain exhausted, but she kept her eyes narrowed and her intentions focused. She blew back a Burned One and turned sharply at the sound of Anya's voice. "What are you doing here?" she demanded, tossing another Burned One through the air like a rag doll. It landed with a sickening crash, but still got up as if it was unphased. "Get back to the school! Get Professor Harvey!"

Silva whirled around, his blade flashing as he cut down Burned Ones. “Farah!” he called out. “There’s so many!”

“Keep going!” Farah shot back while incinerating a Burned One from the inside out. “And Anya, get back to the school. Now!”

Dowling gasped from the effort of incinerating the Burned One as another screeched and lunged for her. Saul was quick to step in and plunge his blade into the Burned One's chest.
