Eve sighed and held Anya against her. "You'll be okay," she promised.

"Of course," Farah murmured. "I'll do my best to learn the last spell as quickly as possible."

"Get under your blanket," Eve murmured, pulling it up and around Anya.

"I've got you, darling," Eve murmured, stroking Anya's hair gently.

"It's a party," Saul murmured, shutting the door behind him and walking over to where the girls were gathered.

"What, I can't be funny?" Saul asked, looking pointedly at Anya as he said it. With that, he leaned in to kiss Farah briefly and lightly on the lips.

Farah smiled at the sight of her husband. "Are your classes over already?"

Saul nodded and sat beside her on the side Eve and Anya weren't occupying. "There isn't much to do with the fairies not having classes."

Eve felt a sharp twinge in her gut. She knew her father didn't mean it the way she'd interpreted it, but still…

Eve shook her head. My mother said no classes were to run until she could teach them again.

"Is there something wrong, Saul?" Farah asked gently.

"Rumors are starting to spread," Saul revealed with a sigh. "I hear them in the halls."

Farah winced. "I don't know… What are they saying?"

"They're wondering why you chose Eve."

"We can't tell them she's our daughter," Farah cut in quickly.

"I know," Saul replied calmly.

Farah's eyes stared out the window, filled with longing. "I know. But a more plausible excuse someone would find is that she's our daughter. No one at Alfea can know."

"Not entirely," Eve pointed out. "How much longer do you think you'll be… indisposed?"

Farah inhaled slowly. "I'm not sure. Ben said a few more days, another week at the most."

Eve nodded. "It's our only option."

Eve supported her girlfriend gently. "We can make it."

"Why don't you two head back to your room to get some rest?" Farah asked. "It's getting late."

Eve moved with Anya to support her as she stood.
