(She's a shapeshifter. She can transform into really small things, like snakes and small birds)
First RP To Be Created In RP Realm :P
The trail branched in three directions at the edge of the wood: one going North to the castle, one going South towards the rest of the Empire, and one continuing Eastward, winding back up into the cliffs, full of shallow caves perfect for hiding. "Due East," Nial whispered, watching warily as a sentry made its way up the road going North.
"What does that mean?" Anna whispered back, twirling a lock of hair.
"Up towards the cliffs. Did you not listen in Geography class?" Niall rolled his eyes jokingly and made his way quietly into the open. "oast is clear, let's go."
Ceana followed Niall and Anna along the trail, gaze raking the cliff to their left and the trees spread out sparsely along the trail.
Anna turned a bit red, embarrassed. "You know I have to skip school a lot," she muttered, following slowly and carefully.
Niall laughed quietly and led them up the trail until a little rabbit trail branched off to the left. He followed it carefully, ducking low under the Pine branches, until they emerged into the first rays of dawn at a small, rocky clearing braced on one side by a couple of small, gnarled trees clinging to a cliff and the other by a shallow cave. "I should be able to reach him from here. You two sure you want to do this?"
"I never back out." Ceana huffed, puffing out her chest. She observed the wild scenery, awe unfurling in her heart. It was all so brokenly beautiful.
(waitng for @Jensenbear cuz i dont wanna force her character)
(ok)
(sorry I was gone, been a busy day)
"No," Anna replied in a bitter tone, following them anyway.
(you're good :3)
Niall turned back to Anna suddenly, concern etched in his usually playful face. "It'll be alright. Greece is safe, sfer than here even."
(haha dramatic irony you're welcome
you'll see
unless you're going over the Roman Empire in history rn
in which case you already know
this is almost the exact time the empire falls
mwahaha)
(omg)
Anna shifted a little, looking down at the ground. "Um… okay," she said hesitantly. "I just don't like going too far from home, that's all."
Ceana gave Anna a one-armed hug. "If anything goes wrong, we'll protect you. And if we get caught, me and Niall take full credit." she stared him down threateningly. "Right?"
"Just me. It was my idea." Niall approached the edge of the cliff and made himself comfortable, sitting with his legs crossed at the edge.
"Dia, mo chuideachadh a 'faicinn tro shùilean dhaoine eile …"
A few moments passed before his eyes changed colour from green to amber and he began to whisper under his breath. "Take Niall and his friends with you to Athens to keep them safe. You will find them at Niall's meditation cave. Leave at once." His voice sounded like the Emperor's, and once he was finished speaking he abruptly stood up. "Get in the cave and act like you're having a random conversation. Father's men are on their way."
(oh oof
translation: God, help me see through the eyes of others)
Anna nodded, her bones shifting quickly and compressing. Small feathers sprouted from her body, and she took the shape of a hummingbird.
Ceana straightened out her face and sat down cross-legged in the cave, leaning against the stone. She watched Anna's hummingbird hop around the cave.
Niall paced outside of the cave anxiously. Had his father fallen for the trick?
Anna flitted around nervously. What if they got caught? What would the do then? She flapped her wings faster, and accidentally smacked straight into a cave wall.
Ceana waddled over to Anna and picked her up gently, stroking her wing. "Niall, try and calm down. You'll look suspicious."
"Sir? Mr. Niall? You and your friends, come with us."
A Roman general stood awkwardly at the edge of the clearing, alone. "Our men are waiting. You're coming to Athens, for your safety."
Niall jumped and ran his hand through his hair. "Ahm… Yes. Yes, sir." He posed regally as the general bowed, and he turned back nervously to face his friends as they left.
Ceana looked up at the general. She schooled her features into a lazily calm expression and walked up to Niall. "Wasn't expecting that. Well, let's go!"
Anna shook her wings out and jumped out of Ceana's hands, her body bouncing back into its original human form.
Niall followed the general silently, expression unreadable. Niall mounted his horse, Anna, when instructed, and turned to watch the others as they mounted their own.
Ceana climbed onto her horse and steadied herself waiting for orders.
Anna took a deep breath and clenched her fists. She willed herself not to transform into another being.
The general led the way down the dirt road facing South. "We ride until nightfall. Please hurry; It's bad enough I'm missing a battle for you."
Is that any way to treat an heir to the Throne? Niall thought bitterly to himself, though unwilling to argue. He honestly didn't care all that much. It wasn't like people weren't wrong when they talked about him. He had no idea how he would run an Empire. He sidled up beside his friends and rode in silence for a few minutes before finally speaking up. "you guys excited?"
Ceana shrugged. "Never been to Greece, and I can't say I have any idea what to expect."
