FLUFF One-On-One (Closed)
(Alrighty. Then I suppose I should change Brooke's outfit. Lol.)
(Alright.)
(Shall I post us a starter?)
( Go ahead.)
Brooke impatiently waited in the summer library for Prince Christopher. It wasn't that she was excited for his arrival, no, she was far from excited. In fact, she almost dreaded his coming, but it couldn't be helped. Their parents had set this day up, and she had no say in it whatsoever.
With a groan, she stood from her chair and made her way over to the bay window. She sat down there, crossing one ankle over the other like she was taught, and watched out the window.
( I am soooo bad at this.)
Christoper stepped out of his carriage. This is going to be soo fun. He thought sarcastically as he was lead down the chambers. He wasn't really excited, but he should make it comfortable for the poor girl.
(Sorry this took so long! I was watching a movie w/my fam.)
As the carriage pulled up and Christopher stepped out, Brooke sighed and stood. She should at least make herself somewhat presentable, she supposed. Quickly heading to a full-size mirror hanging on the wall, she smoothed out her dress, put a few stray pieces of hair back in their place, and shook her nerves away. Once she was finished, she turned to the door, waiting once again.
Christopher saw Brooke standing by the entrance. "Good Afternoon, Princess Brooke." He awknowledged her and did a little bow before plastering a smile to his face.
Brooke put on the most authentic smile she could muster, curtsying slightly in response to the bow.
"Prince Christopher. It's a pleasure to have you here," she greeted him politely
He nodded his head and gestured towards the library. "Lets talk in private shall we?" He said and led them into the library before pulling out a chair and helping them sit at the table.
Unbeknownst to either young royal, a dark figure lurked silently in the shadows of the library, watching, waiting.
"Yes, I suppose we shall," Brooke agreed when she was seated. She folded her hands neatly in her lap, sitting like a lady even when stressed. "Anything in particular on your mind?"
Christoper leaned back in his chair. "Question: Do you really want to do this because I need to know and I dont want to make you uncomfortable or anything." He asked and looked at her curiously.
Brooke's eyebrows shot up.
"Well… I mean, it was kind of set up for us, right? So it's not like I have a choice in it, whether I want it or not." She sighed, looking away for a moment before turning back and continuing, "But I do still have yet to decide, honestly. It's not like I've known you for that long, so I don't have much to base my answer on."
"Technically we do have a choice. We could always fake our relationship and break up or we can just use this time to have fun. No pressure really, its your desicians." Christopher suggested. "Anyway, sorry to put this all of a sudden, Im Christopher from the Kingdom of Somewhere." He introduced himself jokingly.
With a nervous laugh, Brooke stuck her hand out.
"Brooke, from the neighboring kingdom, Somewhere-Else," she replied, a small smile pulling at the edges of her lips.
The figure in the shadows fumbled with something in their pocket, staying silent, waiting for the perfect opportunity.
"Hey why so nervous? I don't bite, well not usually." He gave her an encouraging smile and shook her hand.
Brooke's smile widened a bit.
"Well, it's not like I'm meeting the guy my parents desperately want me to marry or anything," she half-joked. "That couldn't have anything to do with it."
Christopher's eyebrows shot up in amusement. " Am I really that good looking?" He teased before picking up a book, looking at the title before thumbing through the pages. "You read?" He asked.
"Of course," Brooke said, nodding. "That one's actually one of my favorites."
From the shadows, the figure started mouthing words to… something… The object in their pocket began to heat up.
Christopher slid her the book. "Looks interesting." He complimented before noticing a slight change in the air. "Is it me or is it getting hot in here." He said. "No pun intending." He added.
Brooke opened her mouth to reply, but it was at that moment the figure rolled the object into the middle of the room. It was a small sphere, about the size of a golf ball, and it was glowing bright red. Suddenly, it exploded in flames and shrapnel, causing the whole room to light on fire.
Brooke pushed her chair back and dropped to the ground, covering her head with her arms. Someone grabbed her arms and forced them behind her back. She struggled to get free, but a hard kick to her side stopped her, making her groan from the pain.
He immediately threw a chair at the stranger before searching for Brooke through the mist of the smoke and flames. Guards were shouting and were making commotion on the other side, "Brooke!?" He called out and wildly looked around and saw an outline of her figure and ran over to it.
Brooke coughed from inhaling smoke, and she squeezed her eyes shut tight to keep it out of them. She heard Christopher shout her name, but she couldn't respond between the smoke and being kicked.
The figure ducked the chair, then tied Brooke's hands together and gagged her. Once they were finished with her, they moved on to the prince, grabbing a leg of the shattered chair and using the thick smoke that filled the room as a covering to sneak up behind him. They hit Christopher over the head with the chair leg.
