Spinel looked up at the house, suddenly gaining a mischievous grin on her face. She snuck her way up the stairs and peered through the window, seeing Steven sitting on the couch, reading a book. Perfect.
Slinking back over to the door, the Gem knocked, making Steven perk up and set down the book. Answering the door, he found that no one was there, only to get tackled by Spinel, who had been hiding on the roof, making the hybrid yelp. “Surprise!!” She announced, smiling.
“S-Spinel!” Steven stuttered out, clearly frightened by her sudden appearance.
“The one and only.” She said, letting him go.
“Why are you here?” Steven asked, catching his breath from the slight heart attack he had suffered.
“Oh, the Diamonds are off doin’ somethin’, don’t know what, don’t really care. But anyway, I took this time off to check in on you.” Spinel replied.
“You look different.” He observed, gesturing to her slight changes.
“Yeah, there was an accident. But it’s no biggie, I’m fine now, aren’t I?” She asked rhetorically, making Steven look somewhat worried.
“I guess…” He answered, opening the door and inviting her in which Spinel clearly took after glaring at the beach for a moment, searching for Dk who might’ve followed.
