Nyx let out a quiet breath, thinking of everything that day. The animals, telling Jude what he had had to do with RTI, learning about sex… everything.

Jude pressed a brief kiss onto Nyx's cheek, smiling as he looked at Nyx. "So," He said, "Dinner, soon? You wanna play some music?"

Nyx nodded. "Yes! To both." He replied with a smile, looking up at Jude happily. "Please?"

"Mhm," Jude nodded, smiling and taking Nyx's hand and nodding out into the hall. "Let's go to the living room. You choose the music, I'll make the call?"

Nyx followed him out. "Alright." he replied, heading over to look at Jude's selection of music, smiling softly.

Jude leaned against the arm of his sofa as he dialled the number of a local pizza joint, placing their order and confirming the details before heading over to Nyx.

Nyx had picked out a few CD's. "One of these?" he suggested, raising his eyebrows at Jude curiously.

"Sure," Jude nodded, glancing at his tall shelf of records, CDs, and tapes with a smile, "Play whatever looks interesting."

Nyx nodded a little bit, and put one in the player, starting it. He looked up at Jude with a happy little smile. "Thank you!"

"For what?" Jude asked, smiling as his CD player hummed and the music began to play, the soft instrumentals of Fleetwood Mac filling the room.

"For everything." Nyx replied with a little shrug, leaning his head on Jude's shoulder and letting out a quiet breath.

Jude smiled softly. Between his childhood and all his bad relationships of the past, the idea of being important to someone was foreign to him. He slid an arm around Nyx's waist, sighing. "You're welcome, but– you don't need to keep thanking me."

Nyx shrugged a little. "But I want to thank you. So why shouldn't I?" He asked, looking up at Jude curiously.

"I don't know," Jude said, casually averting his eyes. "–I mean, obviously you can say what you want. It's just that I feel like I shouldn't be getting this much credit," He said with a weak laugh, "I didn't do that much."

Nyx sighed. "We've been over this, Jude!" he exclaimed, leaning into Jude. "There's no reason for this argument."

"I know there's no reason," Jude said, sighing heavily in his own frustration. This was a confusing feeling to him, and he hated that. With coding and robotics, every command and sequence had to be exact, and he struggled with processing the parts of his life that weren't. "It's like when I called you beautiful; when I first met you," He said, "It felt, like, wrong to you, and you didn't like it."

Nyx blinked, processing that. "But– that's different." he protested. "You didn't know me, and…and you only thought I was beautiful because…because of the robotic parts. That's different."

Jude nodded, pushing back a few locks of hair and letting out a soft sigh. "I know it's different– but telling someone their beautiful isn't a bad thing. And you didn't exactly take it the way I meant and that's understandable. It's the same with this, in a way."

He squinted, still not understanding. "That doesn't make sense." he complained, shaking his head.

Jude thoughtfully chewed his lip, silently trying to piece together why he was so insistent on feeling this way. Why did it feel so wrong to say 'you're welcome,' while Nyx was smiling at him so sweetly? "I know I shouldn't feel…guilty for this," He said, shrugging helplessly, "–But I do. I'm sorry if I'm upsetting you, I dunno what to say."

Nyx frowned a little. "It's okay." he replied, leaning his head on Jude's shoulder. "I just…I guess I just don't understand right now. Maybe someday I will."

"Hm," Jude sighed, looping an arm around Nyx's waist, "It's okay if you don't. I don't. It doesn't matter how long you've lived in the world, some things just don't make sense."

Nyx nodded a little, leaning against Jude. "Hm. Okay." He replied quietly, closing his eyes and letting out a breath.

Jude ran a slow hand through Nyx's hair. "Headache?" He asked, looking at him with a soft smile as the music sounded from the CD player.

Nyx nodded a little bit. "Mhm. A little bit." He replied quietly, pressing his face into Jude's shoulder, holding onto him.

"Hmph," Jude sighed, absentmindedly twirling a lock of his dark hair and holding him close, "But you're feelin' okay? Not tired or anything?"

Nyx shook his head. "Not tired. Just a headache." he replied, closing his eyes and staying pressed up close to his boyfriend.

Jude nodded, letting out a slow breath just as his apartment's buzzer sounded. "Mmh, pizza," He mumbled, pressing a brief kiss to Nyx's cheek and searching his pockets for his wallet.

Nyx smiled a little, stepping away from Jude so that the other male could get the pizza. He sat down on the couch.

Jude went out to get the pizza, reappearing in the hall a moment later and shutting the door with his foot. "It's here~" He said with a soft laugh, putting the box on the coffee table and taking a seat next to him.
