"Hmm," Jude smiled, opening up his groupchat and drumming his fingers on the edge of his phone as he tried thinking of a reply, "Now, how should I tell them? Though, of course, I won't tell them about RTI and stuff," He quietly added.
Nyx blinked, then hummed. "I don't know." he replied, looking up at Jude, then around the subway. "Whatever they'd believe, I guess.'
Jude nodded, mulling it over for a moment before typing out something he thought might work. “sorry i havent texted or called back. im pretty ok. all good. i met somebody, and i think i want u guys to meet :)” He showed Nyx the phone, “This’ll work, right?”
Nyx studied it, then nodded a little bit. "Yeah, I think so!" He replied, smiling up at Jude. After a moment of thinking, he said, "Do I need a phone?"
Jude sent the text, immidatley putting it back in his pocket; too nervous to see their replies when they came in. "A phone?" He said, smiling as he looked to the side in thought, "Yeah. I think you could do with one. You can call me if we're separated and you can look things up. Read stuff, play games…I think it's a good idea. I'll get you one."
Nyx blinked. "I…Okay!" he replied, smiling up at Jude and snuggling close to him. He didn't quite seem to realize that most people didn't do such public displays of affection, though that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
Jude smiled, casually sliding an arm around Nyx's shoulder. "I mean…I gotta find the time to get one and set up a calling plan but…yeah," He said, nodding, "And you can take pictures on a phone– so you can have it with you, wherever you are and see pictures of the stuff you saw, wherever you go."
Nyx grinned up at him. "Thank you!" he said happily, pressing close to Jude and reveling in the gentle touch of Jude's arm around him.
"You're welcome," Jude said with a shy smile, letting out a soft sigh as he thought of introducing Nyx to his friends, "I'm really excited for you to meet them, it's gonna be great. Maybe we should go out or something."
Nyx smiled. "Go where?" He asked, looking up at Jude happily. He didn't suggest anywhere, wanting to hear what Jude would say.
Jude tilted his head to the side, smiling as he softly shook his head. "Mm, I dunno," He said, trying to think of a place where they could all meet without it being too overwhelming for Nyx, "We have this one bar we like to go to. It's not too loud– but you don't have a fake ID."
Nyx frowned a little. "I don't have any ID." he pointed out, looking up at Jude and shrugging his shoulders.
“That’s true,” Jude said, leaning back in his seat as he thought of what to do about that, “It’s a shame we can’t go to our bar to meet them. But we’ll get you an ID, for sure. I have a friend of a friend up in East Harlem who knows what to do.”
Nyx nodded a little bit. "Okay. I'm…18, I think." His face screwed up a little in thought, and he looked up at Jude.
"Okay," Jude nodded thoughtfully, returning Nyx's look with a little smile. "I turned twenty not too long ago," He said with a faint shrug, lowering his voice when he next spoke, "And as for your ID– I think it'd be good if we got you a fake one, first; cause the guy told me how it works, and making a real one is this this super long process."
Nyx nodded a little bit. "Oh, okay." He said with a cute little smile, looking up at Jude.
"O-kay," Jude echoed with a soft laugh, tilting his head to the side as he smiled back at Nyx, "Hm, I can't wait til we can all go out together– it'll be great."
Nyx hummed faintly, leaning in close to Jude. "Me too." He replied, smiling as he looked up at Jude.

Jude let out a soft sigh as he smiled at Nyx, opening his mouth to say something when the muffled recording above them announced their stop. "Oh. this is our stop," He said, taking Nyx's hand and nodding out the windows as the train slowed.

Nyx nodded a little, standing up with Jude and smiling as they left the train. He was excited for the rest of the day, and to eventually meet Jude's friends.

Jude bit his lip as he tried to navigate the busy subway station, holding Nyx's hand as he shouldered past other commuters and they reached the steps up to the street. "Mm– wow, sun's out," He said with a soft laugh, shielding his eyes from the light as they walked.
Nyx grinned, narrowing his eyes against the light. "'s bright." He complained. "Are we almost to the museum."
"It's around the corner," Jude said, nodding at the row of taxis going up and down the street, glancin down the road before moving to cross to the shadier side, "Hopefully it's not too busy."
Nyx nodded. "Okay." He replied, shooting Jude a quick, happy little smile, then looking ahead at the sidewalk again.
"Mm– there's the admissions, c'mon," Jude pointed out, glancing up at the bannered museum as they approached it, nodding at the doors as he walked up the steps with Nyx.
Nyx smiled as they walked up to the museum, holding onto Jude's hand happily. He bounced on his heels a little as he walked.
Jude let go of Nyx's hand as they approached the admissions, taking out his wallet and paying for their tickets. He thanked the clerk and picked up their maps of the museum, turning to Nyx with a smile as he handed him one. "Ready to see some dinosaurs?"
Nyx nodded a little, taking the map and then taking Jude's hand again. "Mhm!" He replied happily, grinning up at him.
"Great," Jude smiled as the entered the wide entry hall, the room alive with people and overheard announcements. "Look–" He said with a laugh, pointing out the towering skeletons of two dinosaurs on a roped-off platform in the centre of the room.
