"Your 'adorable puppy' nearly took a chunk out of my arm! And no! I don't think I'll get off you! You are wanted for crimes of necromancy. And honestly, this isn't helping your case in the slightest."
High Fantasy D&D Style World (Open)
"Well darn it, but you have to admit that I is rather cute, even if it did just try to maul you to death, that just adds to its charm. Also is necromancy really a crime, I'm not hurting anyone, unlike you right now, you're knee Is digging in and I'm not comfy under here"
"Not hurting anyone??? You're complaining about being a little uncomfortable while I am literally bleeding because of YOUR reanimation!" While she's distracted I tie her hands.
"Um first, you came at me and I'm trying to defend myself so sorry about you arm, my bad, and second please don't tie my hands that's not good for me" After I say that my reincarnation leaps on her and sits on her instead. I pull my hands apart from the not-yet-tied rope and stand up, watching as my new dog sets itself down on top of her.
"YES I CAME AT YOU THAT IS MY JOB!" I try to stand as her dog jumps on me. I notice a crowd has started to gather. If I keep Willow here a little longer maybe another member of the Watch will step in. At the very least, it's harder for her to escape now.
"Okay, okay, no need to scream. Calm down, I can't understand why you'd even want to join the watch, it just seems silly to me. Unless youre secretly a criminal and youre covering your tracks from the inside," her buddies will be here soon so i start to try and reach out to other scelentons in the dirt. I find a few and chant some archane words under my breath and have them close to call. Luckily she's too busy with the dog to notice.
"It's a respectable job! I don't understand why you can't comprehend the dozens of people who volunteer for this" I gripe while dealing with the dog. I look up. Suddenly, I'm surrounded by reanimated corpses of various animals. My eyes go wide and I softly curse.
"Wait, you do get paid right, why on earth would you do this without pay?"
"Of course I get paid what sort of question is this?!" I crouch in a readied stance and don't move. Not while she has a landslide of an advantage.
"Well you said volunteers and I just assumed that you would be the kind of person to do this with out pay, one of 'God righteous men', you know," my reincarnations get ready to attack, surrounding her
"You don't know me. But you implied no one wants to do this work, which is wildly untrue." Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted the darker blue of a more experienced Watch member. I kept a smile off my face and prepared to attack.
"I just have never met anyone who tries as hard as you, and sure I've only just met you but the only time I've seen people try as much as you right now was when they were trying to escape death, and even then some weren't as enthusiast as you are."
"Or MAYBE I don't feel like roaming the countryside looking for you. This is an easy ends to the problem. And why are you so chatty? Stalling will get you nowhere here." And I jump at her, sure the other member of the Watch can see.
(sorry but I have to go now. I can be back tomorrow afternoon though)
(sure, what time zone are you in)
(US Eastern)
(Cool, thanks, you're 5 hours behind me, I think)
(Okay then wanna agree to just update this when we can and not worry so much about having a time when we can back and forth because that may be near impossible)
(sounds good)
One of my reincarnations blocks her attack and I shrug my shoulders, "I was just trying to be social, if you can't tell I don't talk to A lot of people, but i guess if you don't want to talk to me I'll just leave," I turn to leave and my reincarnations make a path for me through the crowd
I can't see where the other Watch member is through the dense crowd, and I can tell Willow is still watching me out of the corner of her eye. So I let her walk away, running in the opposite direction and letting her think I'm a coward. I duck into the nearest alley though, and climb onto the rooftops. Having not originated from this village, which is really more of a small city, I'm still not used to their common rooftop travel, but Willow has the look of a complete foreigner. She'll never see me coming if I follow carefully enough.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see her run in the opposite direction. I walk calmly to the graveyard where I plan to stay for a few hours, just to be safe. When I do end up getting there I contact a few of the departed spirits and listen to their stories. A couple hours pass and I begin to let my guard lower, dismissing all but one of my reincarnations are sent back to the ground. I keep the original, the dog, which I call Max and I head off to leave the small Town in the shadow of the dark.
Finally, she's leaving. From my position on the roof I'd watched her the past few hours and at this point she fascinates me. Who is she? I want to talk to her more than I want to catch her, for now at least. I wait a few minutes and follow her at enough of a distance I can just barely tell where she's been, and she'll never notice. As I walk I wonder why no one came to help. Is it because I'm new? Is this a test for me? Or is it her?
Max walks a few spaces in front of me as we start traveling a dirt path surrounded by trees. After about half an hour of traveling I end up in a small village, smaller than the last with only a few houses and a church where travelers can stay. I send Max to scout a perimeter around the village and tell me if anyone who wears watch clothes or looks like that lady comes in, then I enter the church hoping for a peacefull nights sleep.
I stop near the outskirts of the town, mindlessly fidgeting with the ties of my leather bracer. This town isn't far from the city we came from. It should be far enough from my hometown. Right? I look up and the sky is beginning to turn crimson. Should I No. I can't risk it. Even though there's no logical reason why they would know, I can't make myself walk any closer. I don't want to let Willow just walk free; she's reckless with her necromancy and could seriously harm people, but what if she leaves town when I'm not looking? Oh well. Likely she'll stay the night so I climb a tree tall enough to give me good sight of a good chunk of town, pull my jacket around myself a little closer, and drift off to sleep hoping to catch her in the morning.
When I enter the church a nun welcomes me in and lets me stay in a small room with a small bed, but it was designed for a one night stay, and that's how long I intend to be here. I want to leave early in the morning as it's a day travel to the next town. I plan my route on a map and stuff it in a bag I may or may not have stolen from a market. When I have it all mapped out I try to get some sleep but for some reason, I just can't get my mind off the watch person. Surely she wouldn't off just run off like that, I've had a few run-ins with her type and she stuck around the longest after I bought some bones back to do my bidding. She's probably tracking me. I should probably move now rather than later. Well, if i get caught it's my own fault, what's the worst that can happen?
I am very much asleep, which may or may not be poor judgement on my part.
I sit back up and think through all the scenarios in my head. If I did stay and sleep she can't drag me out of a church, well at least I hope she has a better moral compass then that, but she could just wait outside until I have to leave or be getting reinforcements right now. Then again if I leave she won't know where I'm going unless she's following me right now, plus i'd be tired. I decide to just sleep. I can deal with that later.
still sleepin'
When I wake up the sky is blue and purple from the early sun. I get up and try to straighten out my clothes before checking the window only to calm my nerves slightly, seeing nobody. I slip out the room silently and go to the kitchen to collect some food for my journey, I then leave the church. I go down the path I've marked on my map while taking a bite of my slice of bread. Max catches up with me and we travel together.
