Cert frowned. "Part of that's true."

Evanescent Mettle

"Ah, but which part?" Inwardly, Masalee was a little unsettled. How could he tell? How much did he know? "Ooo! Here's a good one! We're travelling entertainers selling fights to those who need a distraction."

Evanescent Mettle

Cert glowers and doesn't reply.

Until Willow gets back, Masalee entertains herself spinning wilder and more complicated and ludicrous tales as to why they're out here.

@ThermalNight

It took Willow about an hour just to back to the town. She walked back into the village and went directly to the market. Buying sturdy ropes and a bit of food, for the watch member she stilled didn't know the name of, Willow left quickly. She felt… uneasy in the open and subconsciously searched for some bodies she could reanimate if needed, she found one half a mile away which didn't subdue her anxiety much. She looked directly ahead of her, walked fast and concentrated on her breathing, however much she tried to ignore the earge to turn around but she did. Hoping it looked natural she 'calmly' turned around and saw a shadowed figure looking back at her.

(Ima post this quickly as I plan to insert a new character here, if you disagree just say and it can be anticlimactic af where she turns and leaves, if you want to continue writing from Masalees side feel free to)

@ThermalNight

(new character, oh dang)

Nathaniel watches the person who had brought so much pain to his life. He feels the hatred flood his veins, a feeling so familiar it was like home. He simply watches her. He had waited so long to be in this situation that it was surreal to him. She was responsible and she would pay the price. He takes a few steps forward and takes out a blade, letting his rage take over as he pounces towards Willow.

Evanescent Mettle

(I AM SO READY FOR THIS NEW CHARACTER!!!) Masalee: "What's your name, anyway?"
Cert: "Cert." (And Masalee will tell Willow later, sorry I forgot to do the name thing)

@ThermalNight

Willow froze for a few seconds befoe realising that the person in front of her was a threat. She summoned the corpse, a wild bird, it quickly traveled the half mile. She saw the shadowed person go in for an attack and sidestepped clumsily, she commanded the bird to attack. It went for the face, eyes to be exact but the shadowed figure was quick and only got a scratch they're arm. At this point Willow realised what a stupid idea it was to not take the horse with her.

Evanescent Mettle

(Hah. Now you have to figure out how to fight yourself)

@ThermalNight

(I've noticed my character has ahabit of not asking for names until they're just told to her)

Nathaniel paused. He looked down at his wound, at the bird waiting to strike again and then at Willow. He takes down his hood to reveal his brown hair and eyes, dark skin and a burn scar across half of his face,
"Do you remember who I am?" He askes slowly.
"Nathaniel Wilson. How could I forget you? Are you here to kill me?" Willow replies, steadying herself.
"You will get what you deserve."
"That's what your father always used to say, before torturing people."
"Exactly," Nathaniel pushed his blade towards Willows stomach. She grabbed his hand to give her just enough time to step aside as the skeleton charges forward, latching onto his face this time. Clawing at his face. He smashed it by punching it leading to him punching himself, something Willow would of laughed at had she not been in this current situation. When he turned to look at her she could see murder in his eyes and blood running down his face. All in all a horrifying sight.
Willow, unsure of how to react to this, waited until he attacked again ducked under his arm and ran back to the market. She was just happy it was so busy.
Barging through people she ran in a few circles and was sure she had lost him and bought herself some throwing knives, realising for the first time she might not be able to rely o n reanmations her entire life. After a few more minuts of watching and was sure she would not be followed she left at a fast pace that didn't slow until she could see Masalee.

Catching sight of the look in Willow's eye, Masalee asks, "Time to go?" not really waiting for a response. She slings Cert over her shoulder and mounts the horse, riding it up to Willow. "Get on. I think it's magical, so it can probably support our weight. Also I don't know how to ride a horse but that's fine."

Evanescent Mettle

Cert, still handcuffed and balanced on Masalee, mutters, "You could just ask, but no! You're going to assume. Reckless criminals will kill me without even meaning to."

@ThermalNight

Willow nods and smiles at the watch members annoyance, she's pretty sure Masalee isn't even a criminal, anymore, but at be he's just one of those people who can't accept that people change. Willow gets on the horse behind Masalee, amused to see how this turns out.

Evanescent Mettle

Masalee does her best to direct the horse, and manages not to kill them, but just barely. Cert, having had enough, says "Just let me hold the reigns. I promise I'll go where you tell me and I won't try anything because you'll both be right behind me, but seriously. I'd rather not die because of your inability to ride a horse."

Reluctantly, Masalee rearranges Cert.

@ThermalNight

The ride went smoother after the watch member took the reigbe though no less crampt. Willow realises that she still didn't know the name of the watch member, so as most people do when they want to know something, she asked for it. "Whats your name?"

Evanescent Mettle

"Cert", Cert said.

Evanescent Mettle

"Oh yeah!" Masalee chimed in. "Aren't you some sort of detective or something?"

Evanescent Mettle

"Essentially," Cert replied.

Evanescent Mettle

"So why'd they send you after us?"

Evanescent Mettle

"A lot of people were busy in the clean up of that necromancer's doings, and I was bored. Although the longer I spend here the more it seems like something's off, like something needs investigating."

Evanescent Mettle

"Yeah, probably. I don't think you'll believe me, but for what it's worth, I don't think either of us are the criminals that you're making us out to be."

Evanescent Mettle

"I believe that you believe yourself. But then, everyone likes to make themselves out to be the hero."

From far away, Nathaniel hears a whisper in his ear, a whisper unaccompanied by a source: "Hello. I am Lark, and it seems we may be able to strike up a mutually beneficial deal. See, those who we both seek revenge from are travelling companions, and while I in no way doubt your capabilities, we certainly will find revenge faster working together than not. If you are interested, you can find me nearby. If not, kindly ignore this." The voice goes silent.

@ThermalNight

Willow listens in silence as the people she had only just met, one that day and the other two days ago, and remembers to when she had no clue that this would happen. In that tavern, not knowing that the next person to walk in would be someone she would travel with two days later.

@ThermalNight

Nathaniel knew that, with Willow traveling with two others who seemed equipped at fight, he didn't stand a chance so he went to find the strange, seeminly disembodied, voice who would be 'nearby'. But with no real limit of what near by could be her selected to just walk around a bit, debating weather to shout 'Lark' at the top of his voice but decided against it. Instead he took it slow and quietly, trying to hear where this Lark would be.

Evanescent Mettle

Lana softly giggled as she saw Nathaniel bumble around confused, clearly looking for her. She let him flounder, but after a moment subtly walked in step with him.

@ThermalNight

Nathaniel notices another person in step with him and feals quiet chuffed with himself that he's able to find someone with such indescriptive instructions, though she was the one who'd found him his pride would never let him emit that.
"So, you want revenge on one of the others I assume," Nathaniel says after a few seconds.
