Calla reached up and touched Ronan's nose, liking the feeling of him rubbing her back. He was speaking, but Calla couldn't hear them, as she was slowly falling into a deep sleep. She closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around him, trying to stay warm.

Calixto crossed his arms, glaring back at Ronan. He sure was an ass when he wanted to be. It didn't matter though. After making sure the others didn't kill themselves on the way back, he'd maybe go searching for a pack that would be willing to let him in. Maybe the other Malchai, Dax could even come with him.
Karina felt quite out of place with the Sunai. They offered to let them stay for a moment to heal the younger one, but the air felt tense. Looking over, she noticed Lila muttering to herself, looking longingly at the pendant she always wore. Scooting closer to the girl, she asked if she was alright.

The rhyme was indeed morbid, likely from the evil shadow-like creatures. If they attempted to pick a fight with him, he'd show no mercy like usual.
