"Course you do, you're a genius." Oliver rested tiredly against the pillows, still holding onto Dove's hand.

"Thanks." Dove pressed a hand to her cheeks, noticing how warm they were.
"So what's step one? Can there be a stage where I eat away my problems? I like the sound of that."
Dove laughed, "I wish. No, but there's a stage where you talk about your problems with someone you love and trust. Perhaps, your family?"
"Too far away and they're too busy." Oliver sighed. "We can just skip that one. I'll be fine." He grinned and gave her a thumbs up.
"But spilling your secrets is always fun." Dove smiled, blush fading a bit.
"I don't really have any secrets. I'm a pretty normal guy." Oliver shrugged, although it was painful to do so.
"What is normal?" Dove sighed, leaning back in her chair. "If there is such a thing, never had it."
“I just meant I’m not anything special, I guess. I don’t have much to hide.” Oliver shrugged.
"You are special. You're my special guy." Dove blushed and locked hands with him.
“You’ve gotta stop doing that or the doctors are gonna think I’m dying.” Oliver winced at sound of the loudly beeping heart monitor next to him. “We get it! I’m embarrassed!” He glared tiredly at the machine.
"I'm just glad that I don't have one of those hooked up to me." she laughed and clicked the clicker, moving from her seat to Oliver's bed.
Oliver smiled widely, though he was unsure if it was because of the clicking noise, Dove’s close proximity, or both. He weakly shifted aside, biting back a whimper at the pain surging through his body.
Dove stepped off from the bed, "You okay?"
(This is so cute……….I'm just watching quietly from a distance……………..lol)
“Come back.” He whined, letting his body go limp again. It was so much easier not to move. He slow caught his breath, trying to relieve the pain without Dove noticing.
"How could I say no?" she sat back down, avoiding Oliver's body parts.
He grinned weakly, letting his eyelids flutter shut for a few moments. “Thanks for staying with me.”
She smiled, brushing back her pink hair, "Yeah. Thanks for giving me a heart attack."
“I’m sorry.” He reached out and squeezed her hand lightly. “Help me sit up?”
"Sure, sure, yeah." Dove reached over and held onto him, freaking out internally.
Oliver winced in pain, his breathing getting shallow. He bit down so hard on his lip that it began to bleed. “J-Just prop up the pillows behind me. So I can sit up.” His voice shook.
She grabbed some pillows and put them behind Oliver, biting her lip to make sure she wouldn't freak out somewhere other than her head.
“Thanks.” Oliver let out a sigh of relief as he let himself relax again. Despite the medication, he was still in a lot of pain.
She leaned over and pressed a kiss to Oliver's cheek before her brain could react to her heart's decision. "Get well soon."
The heart monitor went beserk again, making Oliver flush a deep red. “I… uh-I.” He stammered, his brain felt like it was short circuiting.
Dove drew in a breath, "I-um-I mean.."
Oliver reached out and pressed the clicker with an almost dopey smile on his face.
His smile was a comfort to Dove and she managed a smile as well, trying to calm her beating heart.
“You know, it’s kinda sad to realize you’re the only person who showed up aftervwhta happened. And I’ve only known you for a little while.” Oliver sighed, staring up at the ceiling. “I know my family’s far away, but I thought I’d made some friends here. Guess not.”
