He puts on this act to make his older brothers and father proud, he is doing this for them, although the act helps him to preform better, because he feels more confident this way. I'm sure he would have a soft spot for the younger tributes, although he may act rough towards them he really regrets it.

( Ok so here's, the plan, I've changed this up. So Damerian and Zoe meet at the capital. He pronounces his love for Zoe so the capital changes the rules so only 2 tributes from and district can win. Even from here, Zoe can hear both Haymitch and Lark.. yelling? Wait, Lark was yelling. He had never known to lose his temper so this was a surprise. It must of been something really bad to make him mad. Zoe didn't bother to care since it wasn't her business. She decided to watch the review of the reapings to study her opponents. So far her biggest threat was a guy from district 1. On the other hand, it would be easy to kill off Lark.
