“Yeah, do we need to put a spell around our house?” She asked finally grabbing the fox

"I have no idea." Anan walked forward gingerly up to the border, spotting the injured girl. Should I help her? Wait, the king's guards… She looked out and spotted a few loudly crashing through the area.
Anan frowned a little to herself and sprinted forward to the girl. "Hey! Hey are you okay?"

The shouts grew louder and Kyrri stumbled over she cried it in pain but hurriedly stood up and kept running, only at a slower pace.

“Anan! Who is she?”

Anan looked over at the guards. "Okay, she didn't hear me. Maybe I could distract the guards." She pulled out a little notebook and searched through it. Ah, here it is. The spell.
She stepped out in front of the men hoping she looked powerful and intimidating, as witches should. "Excuse me, what are you doing?"

Kyrri didn’t have any more energy to run and collapsed onto the ground, turning around as she saw the woman in front of the guards. One spoke, “We need that girl, witch.”

"Why?" She tilted a hip to the side, the black leather binding of her notebook gleaming against the sun.

Kamryn put Rustic around her neck and brought her staff in front of her

“She’s a killer, and the king wants her to pay for her crimes.” He snarled, his eyes drifting from one witch to the other, then the book and Kyrri behind them.

"Mmmmhmm… okay, but we don't want you killing anyone on our… let's see… land so if you do, the king will be set in treason for doing that, and we have every right, in turn, to kill you. Skedaddle."

Rustic jumped down and sniffed the new being. “I see but what proof can you show us?” She asked fixing her cloak

“We’re not leaving without her, witches. Lord Varile is dead because of her.” He pointed to Kyrri who retuned a cold glare to the guard.

"You either leave, or we leave with your lives. Souls work really well in potions."

The guards went pale but reluctantly moved away, “We’ll be back, witch.” The guard spat before walking back into their own lands.

"Sure you will. We'll be damned prepared then." Anan turned her back on them and sauntered over to the girl. "Howdy. Who're you?"

Kamryn smiled

Kyrri looked up at the witch, “Why did you help me?” She asked

“We were bored. Or at least I was.” She smiled

"Yeah, I like messing with the guards on the other side." She laughed. "Need help?"

Kyrri narrowed her eyes but she did need the help. She’d die soon if she didn’t get any, “If you’re willing to help me then yes.”

“Rustic come here, she’s a friend.” Kamryn said to her fox.

"Hmmm… Well, it certainly looks like you need it. Alright." She helped the girl up and took her weight.

Kyrri winced, Everything hurt from the running, “Thanks.” She muttered.

"You're very welcome. Alright, I suppose you could sleep… hm…" She dragged her into the cottage and looked around the cramped space. Herbs of all sorts hung in stalks and potions in bottles hopped around merrily. Anan plopped their guest on a bed and fished a potion off of a shelf. It was bright blue and bubbly. "Drink this." She uncorked it and handed it to Kyrri.

“My names Kyrri by the way.” She said before drinking the potion, “What’s yours and what does this do?” She asked.

"Mine is Anan, and that is a healing potion I just discovered. It heals wounds of all sorts! It's a great mixture of yelself, hyverse, and swage (and a pinch of lavender for taste)!" She grinned and took the bottle.

“Oh, thanks.” Kyrri said, giving Anan a strained smile

"You're welcome. It should start taking effect at any moment. It'll… be sore, but you won't feel any actual pain." She put the empty bottle back on the shelf.

Kyrri nodded, “Okay.”
