(Aaa, Happy belated New Year! Sorry, this got buried…)

Asa cut slowly at first, careful not to go too fast and cut herself in the process. She had no idea if the knife would have any effect on her, but she didn't want to find out just yet.
"Done!" she said happily, setting the knife down.

(It’s ok.)

Ashera smiled and nodded, looking at the cut-up mushrooms before levitating them into the soup pot. ”Very well done.” she told her friend as she set down a medium-sized bowl and placed the fresh fruit next to the bowl. ”I’ll help you with the fruit and berries but I’ll still have to check on the soup.” she said grabbing a small knife of her own.

Asa nodded, watching the mushrooms levitate into the pot.
"Okay!" She grinned, beginning to cut up some of the fruit with a smile.

Ashera smiled and started cutting the fruit and some of the larger berries, tossing them into the bowl as she did. ”What’s your favorite kind of berry?” she asked wanting to know more about Asa.

"Mulberries," Asa said with a smile. "There was a tree of them right outside the cave my mom and I lived in, and we'd always go out and eat them together. But… humans think they're poison to dragons, so I haven't had any in ages." She gave a little sad smile.

(It’s ok. I just saw you were on…)

Ashera nodded. “Those are good. For some reason though, not a lot of people seem to like them.” She smiled, making a mental note. “I can’t pick between cherries or strawberries… though blueberries are definitely the next one on my list.”

"Oh, those are really good too! Honestly, berries in general are delicious." Asa grinned, cutting up a few more pieces of fruit.

”Yes, they are.” Ashera agreed, levitating the cut-up pieces into the bowl before turning back to check on the soup. ”I’m sorry for using my magic on you earlier. I normally don't do that without permission.” she apologized.

"It's… okay," Asa said. She shrugged a little.
"I'm glad it was you and not someone else."

Ashera managed a small smile at Asa accepting her apology. ”I’m glad it wasn't someone else too. I don't want you to get hurt or in trouble.”

Asa nodded.
"Thank you," she said. She was still a little scared of getting caught, but… she was starting to feel a lot safer around Ashera.

Ashera opened her mouth to say something but decided against it. She wanted to promise Asa that she would never turn her in but she didn't want to upset her by bringing it up… ”Would you mind if you had to keep wearing the necklace I made you? It might help convince people…” she asked.

Asa looked up when Ashera opened her mouth, waiting patiently.
"No, of course not. It's… It's actually the first collar I never minded wearing. All the rest were… constricting." She gave Ashera a small smile.

Ashera nodded with a small giggle at Asa’s word choice as her normal smile started coming back to her face. ”I noticed that about the human-made collars but I’m glad you like the one I gave you.” she said, a little grateful, before testing the soup. ”Mmm… Lunch is almost ready. How’s the rest of that salad look?”

Asa grinned when she saw Ashera looking happier, glancing at the salad.
"Looks good!" she said.

”Great.” Ashera smiled. ”Would you mind getting down a couple of bowls? They're in that cabinet on the bottom shelf.” she asked, pointing out the cabinet she meant. ”I’ll get the silverware.”

"Okay then!" Asa went to the cabinet Ashera had pointed too, opening it. She grabbed two bowls, closing the cabinet and being careful not to drop them.

”Thank you.” Ashera smiled as she grabbed some silverware and a couple of small plates for the salad. ”Please take a seat. You're my guest right now.”

"Ah, okay then!" Asa made her way to the table, sitting down carefully and setting the bowls down. She didn't know how best to rest her wings and tail, finally settling for the wings slightly to the side and tail over her lap.

(Yay! It's cool. I understand.)

Ashera smiled warmly at Asa before plating up the salad and taking them over to the table. It was hard most days… trying to live among humans. Yes, they had accepted the existence of creatures like her… like Asa, sort of. But they didn't make it easy to coexist.

"Thanks again," Asa said, looking up at Ashera.
"I'm glad to have a place I can be myself."

”Oh, it's my pleasure. I don't really have many friends to spend time with.” the Fae admitted as she served the soup before sitting with Asa. ”I do have some friends but… I’m glad you like it here.”

"Well, I'm glad I could help." Asa smiled, acting like she had when she had been in her dragon form before eating. She didn't really use any silverware- she'd never learned how.

Ashera covered her mouth to hide her smile and keep from laughing at Asa’s table manners. It made sense, since she probably spent most of her life as a Dragon, that she didn't know how to use forks and spoons. She wasn't going to judge though… in a way it was kind of cute.

Asa grinned, setting the hall of empty bowl down as she finished chewing. She had a little mustache of the food, but she looked happy.
"It's delicious!" She said happily.

Ashera cleared her throat lightly to hide a giggle. ”I-… I’m glad you like it.” she smiled back, picking up a napkin. ”Here. You… uh… you have a little on your…” she trailed off as she tried to hold back more laughter.

"Ah-oh," Asa says, giggling a little. She used a napkin to wipe her face off. At least she knew how to do that. "How silly of me!"

”Silly but a little cute too.” Ashera nodded with a very faint blush before she started eater her salad.
