He nods, "That's it. We're gonna get out of here and everything will go back to normal. Just trust me okay?" He says gently.
KIDNAPPED (CLOSED, At least for now)
This time she nodded, it was more sure, like she believed it this time. "I trust you," she finally said. She then paused a second, before saying in a stronger voice,"I don't think I ever got your name.. I'm Aelin."
"Nice name." he says, nodding to her. "Donovan." he answers, looking over the female. He places his hands in his pockets, looking around a little bit.
"Oh, uh, thank you. You have a nice name yourself," She blushed a little from the unexpected compliment, never able to respond well when people complimented her. "How's your back doing," she finally asked, hoping that the poor job of bandaging the wound had at least stopped the blood loss a little.
Donovan shrugs, "I've had worse. I'll be fine." He had the I don't really care. look on his face as he says this. He looks towards the female, Aelin, giving her a curious glance before looking back up.
"Okay then, say if it gets worse though," she knew he looked like he didn't care, but she was still worried about it. She swiped back a piece of hair that fell in her face, before turning to see how Jack and Dusty were doing. It looked like Jack had it under control, so she turned back to Donovan, trying to come up with something to say to break the silence that had fallen over all of them.
Donovan was silent, glaring around the area. He was taller than most of the others, so he could see over their heads and not have to worry about looking people in the eye. He was a salty child, but could grow sweet if you worked with him.
She looked at Donovan, then relaised he looked like he was thinking, so she let him be. Aelin glanced over the table of various torture devices, then got a thought. "Hey guys, most basements have vents in them that lead to the surface, so there can be fresh air. With all these if we found a vent, we could probably get it open, and one of us must be small enough to get inside."
Donovan nods, looking towards the female, "That could work." he says, smiling a tiny bit at her.
((Okay, before I continue on, I must say……. I ship it……))
(laughs not the only one)
((XD, I'll reply now lol))
As she looked at the others, she caught the small smile Donovan gave her. She dropped her glance a little, and smiled back, almost against her will. "L-let's look for one then.." she stuttered a little, then picked up a knife from the table, and walked to the far wall, looking for a vent.
Donovan nods, walking towards the opposite wall, running his hands slowly along it, humming in thought. His fingertips were feather light against the walls.
Aelin looked around, then ripped off the bottom part of her shirt. She held it out to Jack. "Here, use this."
“There, that should be better.” Jack smiled as he finished wrapping Dusty’s wound. “We’ll get out of here.” He gave a reassuring squeeze before getting up and helping to look for a vent along the wall.
(I ship Donolin?? Aelovan?? too)
Donovan was quiet, glancing around. He didn't know these people well, but he was almost a father figure to people, called the 'Dad friend' when he grew close to others. He had an odd sense to protect the others and get them out safely.
"Hey, I found one!" She called out triumphantly. It was high up on the wall, and not very wide or tall. As she stared at it, she said, "Dusty or I could probably fit… you both are two wide… No offense!"
(I ship Donolin?? Aelovan?? too)
(Lol, I think Donolin should be the ship name xD))
Donovan shrugs, "I'll hoist you up, take the vent and get out of here fast. Find a way out for the rest of us and we'll get out of here together, okay?" He gives her a reassuring smile again, but his face fell emotionless once again as he looked at the vent.
(DONOLIN!!)
She nods. "Okay, I'll try." She knew she had to put on a brave face, at least for now. She met his reassuring smile and finally said, "Let's do this and get out of here."
((XD))
He nods, bending down and propping his knee up, then hands to use almost like stairs. He nods to her, "I wish you luck." He mutters.
"I promise I'll see you again," she whispers, then says louder, "I'll get up there and get us out of here, no matter what, I wont abandon you all." She carefully steps onto Donovan's knee, and imeditly gets to work unscrewing the vent with the knife. Once it's free, she drops the grate onto the ground. Stablizing her hands on the inside of it, she pulls herself up and climbs into it. After a few seconds, she dissapears into the vent.
Donovan watches her go, his eyes narrowing, "We know you won't." He closes the vent behind her, glancing back at the door. Their captors might appear soon, how soon he didn't know. But he was going to falter them as much as he could.
Dusty took a table or something and put it besides the door. Now They can't get in as easily.
Aelin crawled through the vent, the walls so small they touched her shoulders and she had to stay on her stomach without touching her head to the top of the vent. She continued crawling through it, knowing she had to get the others out, no matter what happened to her.
Just after Dusty put the table in front of the door, you can hear the lock click. Someone bangs at the door, unable to get it open. Curses string from the other side of it, and the door is being banged at more. The table slowly begins to shift out of the way with every hit..
((Okay, I gtg to bed, bye y'all ^^))
Donovan held the table in place, he was surprisingly strong for his lean build. He glances at the others, "When they come in, don't say a word. I'll take the blame, okay? But make sure you're here when Aelin returns, okay?" he says, making sure they can't get the door open. "Go at least pretend you're still knocked out." He begs, he only wanted one to get hurt.
Jack stood beside Donovan, holding the table. “No.” He said bluntly. “You can’t take anymore injuries. You’ll lose too much blood. If anyone should take the blame, it should be me. Stay here and take care of Dusty and Aelin.” He reasoned.
Donovan shakes his head, "For the love of- Uhg. I've lost more blood before, And I have a high pain tolerance. Take care of the others. I'm the one that allowed Aelin to leave, you didn't do anything. Just… let me do this okay?" He pauses before saying the last line.
(Do you really wanna go? Jack really doesn’t think you should, but if you really want to I can talk to him;) )
