“My neither..” Phoebe bundled herself deeper under the covers, her hair covering her face.

Elide sighed and then gasped, "Shoot." She scrambled out of bed to find her phone.
Phoebe pushed herself up quickly. "Elide? What is it??"
"I forgot to text… mum last night and tell her I wasn't gonna be home." Elide quickly found her phone to multiple texts and missed calls, "Turns out Dam- dad didn't have to work late.."
Phoebe slid out of bed immediately. "Call him back quick– I'm sure it'll be fine–"
Elide nodded and quickly called Damien.
Elide? Why weren't you home last night?
"I'm so sorry, I was told you were going to be working late again and I was going to be home alone so my friend let me stay over at hers for the night. I meant to text and tell you but I completely forgot."
It's fine. I know you're still adjusting to everything here and with the anniversary coming up. Don't worry about it. See you later.
"Alright, bye."
Phoebe breathed a sigh of relief. "All good with your dad?"
Elide nodded distractedly, "Yeah, he's fine with everything."
“That’s good.” Phoebe settled next to Elide.
Elide rubbed at her face, "I can't believe I forgot…"
“Hey, everyone slips up. Don’t worry about it.” Phoebe leaned over to squeeze her friend’s arm.
Elide blushed a little at the touch, "W-We should get ready for school… sadly."
Phoebe groaned a little. “Yeah, I guess. You can borrow some clothes, since you don’t have yours.”
"Oh, no, it's fine. I can just wear the same stuff as yesterday." Elide gave her a small smile.
Dammit. “That’s too bad, I was looking forward to raiding my closet with you.” She smiled jokingly.
"I mean… you've already let me stay over and borrow pj's I just don't wanna be a nuisance." Elide said, shrugging.
“You wouldn’t be a nuisance at all, it’s not like I get to dress up Josh.” Phoebe laughed lightly.
"Well… if you're really sure." Elide gave her a half smile.
Phoebe pumped a fist. “Yesss.” She sprang up, the edge of her sweater lifting for a moment to reveal bare skin before falling back down again. Not noticing, she pulled open the top drawer of her dresser. “What do you usually wear? Style-wise?”
Elide blinked a few times and drew herself out of… whatever it was and walked over to Phoebe, "Dark coloured sweaters and jeans mainly."
“Uhhhhhh…” Phoebe rooted around. “I’ve got a pair of embroidered jeans somewhere..” She pulled a pair out, they were dark denim with yellow and orange flowers climbing up the sjides of both calves and thighs. “And…. one sec….”
Elide took the jeans gently from Phoebe and held them up against herself, a small smile working it's way onto her lips, "O-Okay…"
Phoebe brought out an ever-so-slightly cropped white tee, holding it up against Elide’s torso and chewing on her lip. “No…..” She turned back to the dresser. “Uhh, how do you feel about slightly see-through shirts…? You could wear a tank top… or white bra…….”
"I have a white bra if the shirt is slightly see through…" Elide shrugged a shoulder.
“Great.” Phoebe practically beamed, fishing a diaphanous white button-down shirt from the drawer and tossing it to her. “If you did a French tuck with that it’d be cute.”

Elide smiled and caught the shirt, "Yes boss." She giggled a little and shook her head slightly.
Phoebe flushed slightly. “Sorry..” she scratched at the back of her neck. “I get excited about clothes a lot… god I sound shallow.”
"No, no it's good that you're into it. I'm terrible with clothes," Elide bumped Phoebe with her hip, "I'm gonna go change." And she scurried off.
Phoebe was left standing alone in her room, cheeks pink from the contact. After a minute, she shook herself out of it, digging through her dresser to find an outfit— anything cute, anything that would impress Elide.
