Astra cheered on the two dancing. She fidgeted a little bit in her chair. She wanted to go out and dance, but it was a slow song, and it would be awkward going out by herself, so she contented herself to watching the others and slowly getting more drunk.

Axtin widened his eyes at this. That was not the reaction he was expecting. His grin returned as he saw River smile. He chuckled before saying, "There's a first for everything, I suppose."

Axtin frowned at this. He had heard of many coming from rough pasts, some beaten, some even as far as tortured. He himself was half and not regarded as highly. However, that made no excuse for people to do terrible things to their own kind.
He was quite known for being forward, so that might explain what came over him when he leaned in and kissed River on the cheek. "Well, it's in the past now, right?" he asked, smile ever growing.
"Yeah." she leaned in inches away from his face, "at least I know my future will be amazing." she smiled, her face completely red.
