Jesse shrugged. "I guess. She's 16…"

"HA!" Gabbie awkwardly laughed, turning away from him. Her hair fell off her shoulder to reveal a bunch of brusies on her back.

"What the hell?" Jesse grabbed her shoulder. "What the hell happened?"

Gabbie turned around, "What? What happened? Are Elba and Rory at the door?"

"No your shoulder." He said, looking closer at it. "What happened?"

Gabbie blushed and tried to find an excuse, "Um, uh… I'm a clumsy person!" she laughed fakely.

"Yeah no. Not buying that."

Gabbie felt his breath on her back, warm and chilling at the same time, "You know how I said my parents were divorced? Well, my dad gets part time custody, and he beats me then. He says he loved my mother, but he's absolutly drunk while he says it. It's empty, has no meaning at all"

"Wow I'm so sorry." He said. "I know what that feels like…."

"No…no don't be sorry." She said turning around, their faces closer then before.

He shrugged. "The worst part is that you can't escape because you're reliant on that person."

"You know how it feels" She said, laughing half heartedly.

"My mom is a drunk too." He said. "And when she gets home…" He stopped.

"I know, you can tell me." she said, putting her hand on his cheeck

He shook his head. "I don't wanna bore you with my scars."

Gabbie smiled, "Hearing about someone else that's simaler to me is comforting, don't you think? It gives me hope that not evryone is just bubbly and happy and full of sunshine and rainbows"

"Yeah I guess." He squinted. "Your hand is still touching my face…"

"Sorry I'm drowsy" she said, pulling her hand off his face. "Your face is nice tho, good bone structure, handsome"

"Thank you." He blushed a little.

"Gah, it's no use, you probably don't like me in that way anyways…" she replied, squinting at the lamp across the room

Jesse blushed harder. "Well…"

"I mean, like, who would like a stupid emo girl like me right? " she said, her eyes fluttering open and close
