So basically everyone has three dates on their wrists. Their Birth-Date(The day you were born), Soul-Date(The day you meet your soul mate), and Death-Date(The day you die). You get bands to cover them when you are young. You can take the bands off at any time, but most people only take off their Birth-Date band. Let's say, the time period is current time 2019. Btw you don't have to put the dates on there but you can. You can reveal them through plot instead. Sometimes, though, people are born without a date or two.
