Appearance: Light brown hair that reaches her mid-chest when she wears it down. Soft facial features with a small nose, deep brown eyes, and light red lips. 5’ 5”, thinly built and not much for muscle, olive-toned skin. She has a small birthmark on the side of her neck, near her collarbone, faintly shaped like a star.
General Attire: A pale peach, light blue, or soft yellow dress with a bit of lace on the cuffs and neckline. A pale pink, velvet choker with a heart charm hanging from the center. On her right wrist, she wears a silver charm bracelet that her mother gave her when she turned thirteen; the main charms are a star, a heart, a kitten, and a key. She gets a new charm for each birthday.
Personality: Bubbly, flirty, outgoing, likes to be the center of attention. She is generally happy, but if she doesn't get her way then someone is going to pay, in one way or another.
Flaws: She’s very stubborn, which she gets from her mother. It gets her into trouble sometimes, but she generally manages to get out of it. Also, she hides her thoughts a lot, worried of what others may think.
Backstory: Her parents separated when she was fifteen, but they didn’t divorce until she was seventeen. She used to go between homes each weekend but lived with her mother (Amelia Carter) during the week.
Her stubbornness has gotten her into trouble, like I said, and that combined with her parents’ divorce didn’t end so well. She got into some trouble with a guy who she thought was trying to help her, but he only wanted to take advantage of her. He tried to force himself on her multiple times until she got fed up and tried to end things. He didn’t take too kindly to that and started to hurt her when he could. She received a note telling her to go somewhere that people would help her, and, desperate to get away from him, she took it. The ladies helped her and took her in, for which she is very grateful.
Other: She has an older brother named Ryder (25).

Also, could you add a bit more detail on her appearance? Height, body type, skin tone?
I will do a quick fact check, but I’m 99% sure divorce was not socially acceptable until much later in the 1900s
Lastly, if she was upper class, she wouldn’t be part of the Order, since they all basically started out as sex workers

Okay so I was originally planning to have this set in America, where divorce was legalized later on, but I think Victorian Era England would be better. Divorce was legalized in the mid 1800s there, so that’s a valid part of her backstory!

Name: Kimiko Kasai. It was changed when she came to England to Elizabeth Glenn.

Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual, very heavy internal homophobia (and external)
Role: One of the ladies of The Crimson Flower
Appearance: Kimiko is Japanese, with black hair cut into a messy bob, brushing against her ears. (She cut it off when she joined The Crimson Flower as a sign of defiance, for it was her long wavy hair that was the reason she was taken from her homeland.) She has large dark eyes and very pale skin. Very sharp features, almost to the point of being unearthly. Her limbs are long and spindly, and she’s taller than most, about six feet.
General Attire: Since she doesn't have much of an… asset, she sticks to high collars and long dresses reflecting her Japanese heritage. Usually white (this is an inside joke that not many people get- white is the color of death in Japan).
Personality: Kimiko is a very morally grey person, who does things only to benefit herself. Kind of distant, and doesn't really try to fit in with the others. Quick learner. Will literally keep on going until she collapses. VERY sharp tongue, won't hesitate to use it on you if you piss her off. However, if you really get to know her, she is one of the most loyal and caring people you will ever meet. She is very protective of the people whom she calls family and will fight for them. Carries herself with the air of a princess. Strategic, pretty smart but also kind of dumb (see below). Good at manipulating people… but not so much at socializing with them when she's not the one in charge.
Flaws: Has a bit of an ego problem. Untrustworthy, lies a lot. Always turns to the most complicated solution without thinking. Hates being humiliated or showing weakness. The reason that she hates getting attached to people and never trusts them is that once she does, she refuses to see anything bad about them or to acknowledge their flaws.
Backstory: When Kimiko was 14, she was taken from her homeland of Japan with the intention of being recolonized in the Japanese native village of Knightsbridge (true story! I did some research and this is the link below! https://www.japansociety.org.uk/9203/japan-in-late-victorian-london-the-japanese-native-village-in-knightsbridge-and-the-mikado-1885/. But this article glorifies colonization slightly, which is never a good thing.) She lived in the village for a bit (this was when she was still naive and happy) when a rich, upper-class man named Thomas Duke visited her. They fell in love, and she ran off with him, ignoring her family's warnings. He seemed quite nice at first, giving her presents and nice treats, but then he started to grow rough. He would drug her and have dubiously consensual sex, which later turned into non-consensual. She tried to tell herself that he was just making the nights more exciting, and it wasn't non-consensual if she agreed with everything he said. However, this later turned into being sold to more than one person a night. One day, he simply grew bored with her when he brought another woman home, and she was thrown out onto the streets to survive. Victoire found Kimiko when she tried to pickpocket her, and introduced Kimiko to the Order.
Other: The only thing she has of her previous life is an elaboratly decorated lacquer hair comb.
She looks awesome! The only thing I’d say is be conscious of racism in the time period, I’m not sure how much there was towards Asian people then but I’ll do some research
