“So, are you up to anything?” Aster asked, trying to strike a conversation.

“Not much, I was walking to the grocery store till I watched a crazy person shove you on the floor.”

“Yeah, hasn’t been the best day,” Aster admitted.

Jasper chuckled, “I can tell, where were you heading?”

“I don’t know, I was just walking around,” Aster shrugged.

“You don’t have homework or anything?”

“I do, I’m trying to find a place to finish it.”

"I would suggest the library."

“Yeah, but I go there all the time. Thought a change in scenery might be nice.”

"… then the cafe."

“I’m not allowed back there after an…. incident.”

Jasper blinked, "Do I want to know..?"

Aster shook his head, “Probably not.”

"Okay well.. there's the park." Jasper suggested.

“Good idea! Do you wanna come?” Aster asked.

(I feel a ship coming on!)

"Sure, why not." Jasper grinned.

“Cool!” Aster stopped and pressed the button for walking pedestrians to cross the road (y’all know those buttons, right?), “Do you go to the park often?” Aster asked.

(Yeet.)
"… nope. This is actually the second time I've gone to the park." Jasper confessed, adjusting his backpack straps.

“Oh, really? I think this is my third time alone? I know I’ve gone there at least fifty times with my little sister, though,” Aster slung his backpack over the other shoulder and walked across the street.

"So you like physical activities?" Jasper asked, walking across the street as well.

“Not really, I need to go with her, she’s way too young to go by herself,” Aster thought for a minute, “Now that I think about it, I do like playing soccer, though I don’t have the slightest idea of what the rules are.”

"That… that's queer. How do you like soccer but not know the rules?"

“Um, I just like to kick the soccer ball…” Aster looked at the sidewalk in shame.
