Marine Rescue (Closed)

"Ahhmm, it's a kind of long story. And are you sure?" Tara asked. "She can be a handful, and I don't want to ask too much of you."

"I have a niece and a nephew that are like children to me," He chuckled, "I'll be okay,"

Tara raised her eyebrow."You're sure?"

"Positive,"

Tara nodded. "Okay. Sound good to you Sara?" Sara nodded.
"Well then, my sister is all yours Darren. I wish you the best of luck." Tara teased as she opened the car door and got out. Sara quickly followed her.
"Race you to the doors." Sara said, eyes twinkling.
"Oh, you are SO on." Tara replied.

Darren laughed and watched the sisters race to the doors, he walked behind them with a smile.

(I just realized how similar the sisters' names are…….lol)
Sara beat Tara to the door by barely a second. Tara laughed. "I'll beat you next time Sara." She said as they walked in.
"In your dreams." Sara called back. Tara snickered and slowed down so that she was walking with Darren.

“You guys are great,” Darren was chuckling.

Tara smiled. "I guess…….after mom got cancer we just started appreciating the little things, the little moments of happiness. At the end of the day, all Sara and I really have is each other. And that's all we need." She said fondly.

“That’s how my brother and I were,” he responded understandably.

Tara noticed the 'were' , but decided to stay silent, for now. "I feel responsible for Sara. If anything were to happen to her……." She trailed off.

“Nothing will happen to her. She has you,”

Tara gave a sad smile. "But I can't protect her all the time."

“Maybe you should enlist some help,” he suggest.

"From who?" Tara asked curiously.

He raised an eyebrow, “Umm, Anyone really. People you trust, you shouldn’t have to do this alone,”

Tara nodded. "Fair point." She replied. Sara walked back over to the two. "Are you two slowpokes going to just stand there talking or are we going to order?" She complained.

Darren’s smile returned as he approached Sara.

Tara rolled her eyes. "You're impatient." She stated, giving her sister a light and playful smack upside the head.
"Nnnoooooo, you're just really SLOW! " Sara returned, laughing as they went up to order.

Tara quickly ordered, then turned to Darren. "Want anything?"

Darren shook his head, “Uhh no thanks. I already ate,”

Tara nodded. "Okay. She grabbed their food. "Should we eat here or…?"
