(Lilli? Do you mean Betty?)
Lysander opened the door and grimaced. ”What do you want?”
The young man at the door appeared to be the same physical age as Lysander but had sandy blond hair and brown eyes. ”Well, that's a nice hello from you. I just came by to visit my brother.” he said affectionately with a dangerous smirk.
”We are not brothers, Henry.” Lysander growled. ”Now leave. You're not welcome here.”
Henry laughed, ”Not by mere human standards, perhaps. But you can't argue the marks on our necks.” he glanced over Lysander’s shoulder and sees Betty. ”It seems you already have a guest. Who is this lovely lady?”
”She is not a concern of yours!” Lysander growled dangerously at Henry, blocking as much of the doorway as he could. ”This is your last warning: Leave!”
”Now, why would I do that, dear brother? I don't want to be rude to the sweet lady.” Henry chuckled darkly. ”Besides, I had come to ask you if you wanted to join me in getting something to eat but it seems you already took care of that.”
Betty backed up to the counter her ice pack still on her thigh
In the blink of an eye, Lysander had grabbed Henry by the front of his shirt and slammed him against the wall. ”You will not touch her!!!! If I ever see you on my property while she is alive, I will end you for good!! And the hell what happens to me while I do it!” Lysander snarled, his fangs glinting dangerously. ”Now, get off my territory.”
Henry was wide-eyed at the response, for two seconds, before he forced Lysander to release him and started cackling. ”Well, I never thought I’d see the day that you’d grow a spine.” he laughed, straightening his shirt. ”Alright Lysander, I’ll leave the two of you alone. But remember, there's only one way to keep her to yourself for good.” Henry gave a slight bow and flirtatious wink at Betty and left.
Betty was tempted to walk to him but she was shaking too bad" L-Lysander?"
Lysander was trembling in barely controlled rage, making sure Henry had truly left. He took a deep breath and ran his hands through his hair, trying to calm down. ”I…” he leaned against the wall, not facing Betty. ”I’m sorry.”
He closed his eyes and covered his face with a hand. He could hear how scared she had been… scared of him. ”I didn't have a choice, Betty.”
Though his anger had left him, Lysander was still shaking as she embraced him. ”How… how can you treat me so kindly after what you just saw?” he asked hesitantly, slowly wrapping his arm around her.
He chuckled weakly, ”More than I am.” he sighed. ”I didn't want to scare you. It's just acting like that was the only way he knows to listen.”
He held her closer while still being gentle, so she could pull away whenever she wanted to.
”I really am sorry you had to see that side of me like that.” Lysander apologized. ”I didn't think that anyone would come over.”
”I wouldn't go that far yet. But I am calmer now. Are you alright?” he asked gently. ”I know you were scared but I promise I won't let him harm you.”
He nodded, holding her carefully closer. ”I want to reassure you that Henry and I are not related in any way. We were just turned by the same… creature, for lack of a kinder word.”
He sighed, pulling away slightly so he could look at her face.
”Betty, I…” he hesitated, ”with your permission, I would very much like to kiss you properly.” Lysander cupped her cheek, still leaving her room to pull away. I can't believe I just asked her that after my actions earlier.
