Kameron came up to lysander wrapping her arms around his arm " can I sit with you?"
Lysander looked at Kameron, a little surprised by her sudden actions. ”Uhh, I was actually hoping to sit with my wife and family.” he told her gently.
" but ly she can sit on the other side of you" kameron said.
" You know what it's okay I can sit by myself" Betty said
”I guess so…” Lysander gave a small nod at Kameron’s point. Honestly, he didn't really mind her idea.
”Oh, no, you're not.” Evan said to Betty. ”You’re sitting with me, my queen.” he smiled kindly.
She smiled softly and if you looked closely you could see the years welling up in her eyes
Evan, of course, noticed the tears and hugged Betty close.
She slowly wrapped her arms around him
”It’s alright, darling.” Evan whispered as he held her.
She nodded
Evan smiled softly at her before turning to Kameron. “I hope you don’t mind, but I can be a little old fashioned and I actually had seating arrangements for tonight.” he said, a little apologetically.
Betty tugged on Evan and shook her head
Evan looked back at Betty. ”Yes, darling? What is it?” he asked gently.
She shook her head
Evan raised a brow, not quite understanding what she was objecting to, and leaned a little closer so she could whisper what she meant to him.
" just let them sit where they want" she whispered
”Are you sure?” Evan asked softly as he looked at her kindly.
She nodded
”Alright.” he nodded. ”Would you still like to sit next to me?”
She nodded
Evan smiled softly and lead her to the table before pulling out a chair for her.
Betty sat down with a quiet sigh
Evan lightly kissed her cheek and sat beside her.
Lysander definitely felt jealous as he saw the kiss but managed to appear calm as he reached for the seat on the other side of his wife. ”Is this seat taken?”
She looked at him and then kameron behind him
Lysander saw the look but stayed where he was. ”Please?”
" um I uh I uh um-" she stuttered
Evan gently placed a hand on hers to comfort her. ”It’s alright. You're safe.” he whispered.
"okay" she said
Evan gave her a small reassuring smile as Lysander sat down.
”Thank you, love.” Lysander said gently.
Betty nodded
Lysander gave her a small smile as Henry pulled out a chair on the other side of Evan for Tyler to take.
