she brought her hand up to cup his cheek
He placed his hand on top of hers and leaned into the touch.
She smiled softly
He smiled back, albeit still a little sadly, and kissed her forehead. ”Are you sure you're ok?”
She nodded softly
”Ok.” he whispered. ”Then… I guess I should let you get back to getting ready for your new job.” he smiled a little at her.
" do you want me to stay home with you?"
”Honestly… Yes. But I know how much you want this job. How much it means to you, so I don't want to stand in your way.” he admitted.
" I'll stay" she said
He looked at her. ”Thank you, darling. But only if you're sure. I know how much you want this job.” he smiled softly. ”I don't want you to feel obligated to stay. And I certainly don't want to stand in your way.”
She shook her head " can we go back to bed?"
”Of course, we can.” he nodded, smiling at her and kissing her forehead.
She smiled softly and held her arms out to him
He hugged her close and carefully tried to stand up with her in his arms.
" your gonna drop me" she said
He sighed a little and gave a regretful nod as he gave up on the attempt. He knew he wasn't as strong as he used to be when he was a vampire. ”Ok. I certainly don't want to do that. … But I don't really want to let go of you either.” he chuckled lightly.
" im gonna spend the day with you you'll get plenty of me" she said
”Alright.” he smiled and slowly let go of her to stand up.
She smiled softly
Once he was back on his feet and half supported by the crutch, he reached down to help her up with his free hand and smiled back at her.
She stood up on her own and walked past him
Ouch… Lysander sighed as he straightened himself up and walked back to the bed, wondering why Betty reacted that way.
" sorry I didn't want to hurt you " she said
He smiled softly at her. ”I know. I just… I don't think it would have hurt me to help you.” he admitted. ”But I understand.”
" sorry " she said looking down
”Don’t be. It's alright.” he shook his head and sat on the bed. ”Sometimes I just forget that I’m not a vampire anymore, but keep doing things that I used to when I was. If that makes any sense.” he tried to explain.
She nodded
He gave her a small smile before looking down. ”I… I haven't really changed my mind about turning back, you know.” he admitted softly.
" I know " she said wrapping herself in a hug
”I’m sorry, angel.” he sighed. ”I just… I don't want to leave you alone. I want to stay with you and the kids.”
